Hello,
Ive got maybe an odd question.
But in my music library it displays “viewing 2947 of 2950 songs”.
Is there any way to identify which songs its not viewing?
Its not because of any filters.
What causes this exactly?
Thanks.

April 17, 2016 at 12:42 pm #467204Do any of your songs have the exact same name in the songs.dta file? I had it happen to me once because of the Simple Plan song “When I’m Gone” conflicted with the official song from 3 Doors Down of the same name and it had that same thing where it said 2859 of 2960 songs.
April 17, 2016 at 5:07 pm #467217This happens to me whenever I try to put a Genesis full album, a few live Metallica songs and 1 odd Journey custom. It is seriously tedious but the only way I have been able to fix it is to go to the drive that you have all of your songs stored on and then scroll through and look for the yellow caution icon for damaged or incomplete songs. (I mean from your actual XBOX dashboard, not your pc or C3 con tools.) When that doesn’t fix it, I look for duplicate saves and delete the smallest file.
April 17, 2016 at 6:42 pm #467224This is certainly caused by having duplicate songs in your library. For example you could have two versions of Tool “Vicarious” in your library but the game will only be showing 1 of them in the setlist while the other is being blocked with the game saying 1598 of 1599 showing. Finding the conflicting song can take some time especially if you have 2950 songs in your library. The best way to find the song is what judaith said. You have to go into your xbox360 dashboard storage area and find the individual songs in the RB3 folder. Scroll through each song and find any duplicates that may be present. Songs that also have a 2X bass pedal version are not the problem. Sometimes when updating your custom setlist you may have installed a newer version of the same song but forgot to delete the old version which could be causing this issue. Once you find the duplicate songs your setlist should go back to normal but I always recommend deleting the song cache from the dashboard rb3 folder as well.to clean up any meta data issues.

Oops, accidentally quoted myself when editing my post.
April 19, 2016 at 9:29 pm #467301I had this same issue (viewing 2388 of 2389 songs).
2 customs – “Mother” by Chicago and Danzig conflict with each other. The Danzig version would not show up at all in my song list, but the audio preview would play if I scrolled to the Chicago song. Of course, whichever file is loaded first onto the USB stick would be the one to get an audio preview.
This took me many hours of troubleshooting to figure out what was happening. I still don’t know why it’s happening.
If you have both of these songs loaded then that’s one of the conflicts.
April 20, 2016 at 7:52 am #467329Hey, thanks all for your answers, I understand how this is possible now.
First thing I will try is to rebuild my song cache, then see if its still showing.
If still then I guess I will try the manual search for duplicate songs, even though I’ve always been careful when adding/updating customs.
Thanks again.

April 20, 2016 at 10:43 am #467337Oh and another thing.
This doesn’t affect when two songs have the same title does it?
Like for example, “Linkin Park – Hit the Floor” and “Bullet for my Valentine – Hit the Floor” (Bad example because both works fine, but if you understand)
I have no corrupt files, and no duplicate songs from what I can tell after cleaning up a bit.
Now I will rebuild the cache and see if it still shows more songs than available. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

April 20, 2016 at 11:09 am #467338Ok so update.
Rebuild the cache, cleaned up duplicate songs loosely.
Still telling me 2940 of 2943, which is just as before 3 more.
For your info, I have also the Harmonies Project installed, an this have some effect on this?
I know I’ve seen some files in the RB3 folder I don’t really recognize, which maybe falls under the Harmonies Project installation?
Thanks again.

This is exactly what should be causing it. I’m not at my computer currently but you can take your song cache and run it through the Setlist Manager. I use the detailed data dump when I export the song list into Excel and I found duplicate songs.dta names. When those are corrected, the number of songs will be normal.
April 21, 2016 at 12:16 am #467361I’ve had this happen in the past and its caused by not having unique numeric song ID’s. So make sure every song ID is numeric and make sure every number is unique. If the song ID is text you may get this problem even if it is unique.
I list all my customs I’ve loaded on my xbox in Excel. I then use conditional formatting to highlight any duplicate numeric ID’s. If this happens I change a digit on the ID. Since doing this all my songs show everytime and an added bonus in using numeric IDs is that you keeps your scores even after you’ve deleted your cache.
April 21, 2016 at 6:06 am #467373When you guys say “song ID” you mean the title of the file itself right?
Because I have none which have the same filename, this I know for certain.

Are you talking about some sort of RB tool for PC when you say setlist manager?

What you are saying is, that all your con file names have numeric filenames, or am I wrong?
I also have a few songs with the same artist and title, which show up fine in the RB setlist ingame, so this is why it confuses me if others just dont…
I have for example two Constant Motion, both show up fine, but of course one is official DLC and other custom, dunno if this makes any difference.
Thanks again.

Nevermind this question, I just found out for myself. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
I will check this option out and see if this helps me out.

April 21, 2016 at 6:25 am #467375Or you could try adding say 20 songs to your library at a time starting from scratch to better find the culprits. I have never mixed customs with official dlc so there could be duplicates between the two types. You will get this it just takes some detective work.
April 22, 2016 at 4:56 pm #467443So update, I finally found the culprits, after 2 hours of trial and error.
Thank TrojanNemo for the awesome C3CONTools and Setlist Manager, without this I would never have been able to do it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Second time I did a rougher look through, I managed to lower it by 1, so here I really cant tell which song was the problem.
I found out that the two below was the problem.
“A Day to Remember – Over My Head (Cover)”
“Five Finger Death Punch – Hell To Pay”
I know I have the song “The Fray – Over My Head (Cable Car)”, and funny thing is I have played that ADtR song many times before, but apparently after I got “The Fray” it must have messed up.
Hell to Pay I honestly cant remember when I added this either, and I don’t think I’ve ever played it or seen it in the setlist.
When I export the setlist to Excel and look in the “File Path” tab of these two files, I noticed that they have the same path?
“Five Finger Death Punch – Hell To Pay” and “Judas Priest – Hell Patrol (2x Bass Pedal)” both have the filepath: “songs/hell/hell”
“A Day to Remember – Over My Head (Cover)” and “The Fray – Over My Head (Cable Car)” both have the filepath: “songs/OverMyHead/OverMyHead”
I’m pretty sure this is the problem.
Is there some way to change these things in the CON files?
I tried messing with editing DTA Editor a bit, but only seemed to make it worse, lol.
Thanks.
