UPDATE 7/15/13 – – Another Zelda song from Ocarina of time, this one “Market” This is the little dinky song that plays when in the market area after entering the gates of Zelda’s castle. All instruments except vocals. Pretty short, keys and guitar are kinda the same, and drums are super easy and boring. I haven’t actually tested this yet so if there’s any problems with it please let me know.
July 15, 2013 at 11:45 pm #4030732ND UPDATE 7/15/13 – Another one from Ocarina of time, this one “Shop” this is the song that plays when you enter a majority of the shops in the game. Simple song, but fun to play I think. All instruments except vocals, another one I haven’t tested so if there’s issues let me know.
July 16, 2013 at 4:20 am #4030773RD UPDATE 7/15/13 – Took a break from Zelda to do this one real quick, My first video game custom from the SNES era, this one from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars “Forest” This is the song that plays in game while navigating the forest maze looking for Geno. All instruments except drums and vocals. I absolutely loved this game. If you haven’t played it, please hang yourself ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
July 16, 2013 at 4:44 am #403078The Super Mario RPG is my favorite custom since the Silent Hill stuff. Excellent song choice, good chart. Glad you are keeping the VG music train rolling!
July 16, 2013 at 7:07 am #403080I love that game. Unfortunately it’s the only RPG song I have in whole. Ill try and search more out on YouTube and convert them to mp3 form and then chart them. I have a decent amount of more video game related customs on my to do list so worry not. The opening theme for Silent Hill for the ps1 is coming soon so keep your eyes peeled.

Look for the OSTs for games where it may be available or, especially for older format games, capture multitracks imo. I’ll give you the details on how to do it if you’re not sure since I’m mulling over doing one or two myself eventually.
July 18, 2013 at 6:51 pm #403198UPDATE 7/18/13 – Another custom. This one is the main theme from the Xbox game HALO “HALO”. This has been the most well known theme to the game with the monk chanting at the beginning with the orchestra in the middle. It has all instruments, It’s tough to say what follows what, but each instrument follows a different part of the orchestra, also a vocal track with harmonies. The vocal track follows the words as well as part of the orchestra parts. The charts may not be “accurate” but it’s what I wanted to play when playing each instrument, and decided to share. I believe it’s pretty quality though, and fun to play.

July 18, 2013 at 7:33 pm #403202I’m at work and can’t check this…but this is different from the one released as dlc for GH?
July 18, 2013 at 7:45 pm #403203I’m at work and can’t check this…but this is different from the one released as dlc for GH?It’s not the GH DLC version. It’s the original halo track, not the mjolnir mix.
July 19, 2013 at 1:19 am #4032092ND UPDATE 7/18/13 – Moved back to the Metal Gear franchise, starting with this one from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. This one “Boss Battle”. This plays while fighting all the ingame bosses (Except Olga, Metal Gear, and Solidus) All instruments except vocals. The guitar follows the orchestra. Bass is intense following the techno sounding instrument in the background (no idea what it’s called) and Keys is a derivative of the bass track but not nearly as crazy.
July 19, 2013 at 7:47 pm #403245Thanks for more MGS. The 2nd game has my favorite music of the series next to 3. Looking forward to more!
July 19, 2013 at 10:11 pm #403255The main theme is coming very shortly for MGS2 which I know you had asked about before. I don’t plan on doing much from MGS2 because some of it is weird and difficult to convert to gameplay, but if you have anything particular from MGS2 besides the Main Theme that you’d REALLY like I’ll try and see if it’s chatable well enough to do. The skateboarding theme from Substance I’ll do too eventually BTW.
July 20, 2013 at 4:28 pm #403290I was considering the final battle theme actually. Some of the percussion is really hard to chart though because It’s tough to pick up. I’m almost done with the main theme and you’ll see the drums are kinda weird to try and nail down. The other instruments are OK it’s just the drums are hard to pinpoint what’s what.
July 20, 2013 at 7:59 pm #403293I can see how the drums can be difficult being that its an electronic drum machine. The high hat is absolutely ridiculous in most of the songs. Good idea doing the Snake Skateboarding theme because it would translate very well with RB3.
