I wish we shared tastes in music because your productivity is crazy. Any chance of some classic rock packs in the future?
Kudos on getting that Bond pack out. You’re really bringing it as the lead non-C3 author.
December 28, 2013 at 4:46 am #411278I’m sure this is probably already answered in the forums but I have to ask you, as a person who does this in their off time… How long does it take you to finish a song from start to finish? I’m curious because it sounds like something I would love to do in my “down time,” but like you, I work 40 hours a week, have a wife and 5 kids, so I’m curious as to the length of time. Your work is great and very appreciated. Thank you.
December 28, 2013 at 6:20 pm #411289It took me about 3 weeks on and off to finish up this pack. First you have to tempo map the song, which depending on the song maybe takes like 20 minutes. Then quickly adding the events of the music starting and ending and the song ending, then rendering the song as a .wav and stuff. The initial setup of a song takes maybe like 30 minutes. The vocals on each song took me longest, maybe 3-4 hours, each instrument chart depending on the complexity can take maybe 1-2 hours, and that’s of course with me doing expert only, it would take much longer to do reductions for Hard-Easy. so on average for my expert only songs and no drum animations or venue setting, maybe like 8 hours per song, on and off.

December 31, 2013 at 12:08 am #411406You’ve really hit a grand slam with this pack MrMet! I have been a huge fan of the series since I was a kid and when I saw that you uploaded this I just couldnt believe it. What an amazing idea for a pack and a great way to end the year. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
January 3, 2014 at 8:38 pm #411579UPDATE 1/3/14 – Little update with a few video game customs. The first one is another one from the Grand Theft Auto series. “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Theme”. This is what plays in the opening sequence of the game. Very 80’s, Miami Vice sounding. Guitar follows a little bit of synth, guitar, and the sax solo.

The second one is my 2nd from Super Mario 64 the “Bowser Battle” theme. A little note about these. These are NOT my charts. there were a ton of videos of this song on youtube and I finally tracked down a .MID and applied it to the audio track I had, and added overdrives and fills. I didn’t really change much about the chart. So again these aren’t my charts. I just converted the .MID. Also because this is not my chart, ALL DIFFICULTIES are present if interested.
January 10, 2014 at 7:12 pm #411997Isn’t N64 music sequence-based? If so, it should be possible to get midis out them and therefore multitracks for a more authentic experience. I just don’t believe that Mario 64 track has guitar and no keys.

January 10, 2014 at 9:20 pm #412009Probably, like I said it isn’t my chart, I just converted it. It was a rbn1.0 custom song years ago.

You’re right. I just looked into it and it’s certainly not as easy as I assumed. Maybe there’s a chance for Super Mario 64 just based on how popular the game is, but I couldn’t find a midi/sf2 combo that worked. That’s too bad because it could have made for an interesting mix of playable parts.
January 13, 2014 at 1:39 am #412139Please make more Bond customs like Live and Let Die, Thunderball, and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

January 13, 2014 at 8:07 am #412152Well, alright if he can’t do that, can you do more Bond, please? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Possibly with pro keys
January 13, 2014 at 5:54 pm #412157No plans for more Bond at least from me.
January 13, 2014 at 11:07 pm #412170UPDATE 1/13/14 – Quite a few songs here from one of my favorite bands, Metallica. Some of these have been floating around in some capacity, but all without vocals, and usually only 1-2 instruments. I decided to take some of the old charts, add some instruments to make them full band.
First off here’s a batch of songs from their live concert “S&M” All of these following S&M customs were done by jdcow45 first, having only guitar, bass, and drums. I turned these into double bass versions. I made some minor adjustments to each instrument, but mainly kept intact, and added vocals to them.

The Following customs are mostly mine. They all had no vocals so those are mine, and instruments here and there are other people’s but it’s tough to give credit. But anyways here are the rest:

I have “Bleeding Me” in the works from S&M, and possibly I’ll take that and try the studio version, but I wanted to get these out of the way that I’ve been sitting on for a while.
