Reviving my WIP thread to avoid creating a new one. Now that I’ve started spending a lot more time authoring it has been recommended that I keep an up to date WIP thread up to date so y’all can see what songs are brewing in my wheelhouse! (What is a wheelhouse anyway?)

I’m definitely gonna do them, but unfortunately I realized this morning that, unless I’m mistaken, I can’t do the 3-part harmonies on A Man’s Gotta Do, which is my favourite song! All three vocalists in that song have different parts going at the same time with different lyrics, and the authoring docs say Rock Band is limited to 2 different lyric sets between Harm 1, 2, and 3 at any given time. Bummer. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> I’m not sure how you would author it with just 2 harmonies so I might scrap it. Instead I’ll probably do a Buffy song from the musical episode.

 

But at least My Eyes and Freeze Ray are fine. So They Say should be okay for three-part harmonies too, I think. I’m planning on doing two versions of these songs, btw – an official version and a karaoke (without any vocals at all) version, since I don’t have multitracks and I want a version with no vocals. The karaoke track I’ve got for it isn’t identical to the actual song, but it’s close enough to at least chart on it.

Actually, you can have 3 different lyrics going on, but you need to hide either the HARM2 or HARM3 lyrics with a “$” sign after each lyric if they sing different things at the same time. You will still be able to see them in practice mode when doing this. Not the best solution, but it’s possible.
