May 6, 2015 at 2:07 am #444722Pinhead is pretty cool ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> I took a look at the chart if you are interested in some more feedback.
Guitar and Bass charts look good, although there are some relative pitch issues those tend to be very minor in the scheme of things (the part with du-du-du-du-du-du-dah du-du-du-du-du-du-DAH has the YO chords as higher than BO, stuff like that).
For the drums, the hits look correct but the pad placement is off for most of the song. Unlike G/B the drums will feel very strange if you deviate from the guidelines:
Red = Snare
Yellow = High Tom
Blue = Middle Tom
Green = Floor Tom (lowest sound, sometimes hard to tell from a kick, often it’s both)
Yellow Cymbal = Closed Hi-Hat (snappy, tapping sound) or rarely Crash #3
Blue Cymbal can be a variety:
– Open Hi-Hat (open sound usually in a pattern with closed hat), or
– Ride (medium open sounding), or
– Ride Bell (sounds like a cowbell), or
– Crash #2 (in patterns where there are clearly different crash cymbals being hit)
Green Cymbal = Crash
The rendered audio looks like it contains multiple copies of a stereo mix of the song, not multitrack audio. Make sure you are only using the stereo mix wav file *once* in your Magma project as the Backing track. The other instruments should be assigned to a mute track.
Lastly, the reductions done by CAT here have gone wrong on medium Guitar/Bass. This will often be the case — medium G/B, should be reduced with a lower grid size setting in this case. But it is definitely preferable to have CAT than no reductions so I hope you do get it functioning ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Hope this helps!
May 13, 2015 at 12:19 am #445298Hey guys, sorry about my absence. By the time summer break comes along, I’ll be on more often, and producing my mediocre songs at a much faster rate.

May 15, 2015 at 8:33 pm #445600If anyone downloaded “The Bones Of Baby Dolls”, it may be in their best interest to download it again. I updated the file with backing tracks.

Finally in response to this, I may end up fixing the drums. I’m not sure if I want to move back on “Pinhead”, because of CAT Reductions, so there’ll just be more to edit. Plus the fact that I only charted the drums just for the feel in the song. I happen to have only one instrument for Rock Band, being the guitar, and I like playing all three instruments that Rock Band 3 provides for the controller. For party purposes, I may end up getting a microphone, drumset, and more guitars someday, hopefully soon. That’s when I may put more care into the other instruments I chart in my songs. In other words, I hope people who download my customs won’t be expecting great drum charts. I apologize.
May 24, 2015 at 4:56 am #446195I’m coming back to Brand New, for anyone who is interested. I’m working on “The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows” once again, already having the expert guitar charted. Not a whole lot left for me to do, for I don’t focus on the rest of the instruments as much. It’s a pretty easy song to chart, so hopefully it’ll be out soon.
