OK, admittedly, I’m three sheets to the wind after our weekly RB3 session… but I have 3 witnesses who can corroborate that we witnessed a Yamaha keyboard and a virgin MIDI pro adapter (set to K for Keyboard) enter the menus by pressing a MIDI key, not the adapter. I MUST KNOW MORE!

If we could active overdrive via a key rather than that stupid button… so GOOD.

I can easily confirm this and I can confirm it’s a bug, at least for drums. It does that for drums, which accounts, at least on my setup (maybe not coincidentally another Yamaha device, a DTXIII drum set), for a number of double hits that prevent me from FCing most songs. The way I noticed that the double hits are not because of the pad but because of the adapter interaction with the device is that sometimes, with drums navigation OFF, the drum set activates the menus, meaning that something is routed to the adapter and when I play a song it’s like pressing a button on the pad, when the bug kicks in.
