I made full band guitar pro tabs back in 2003. I’ve tried opening the tabs in GP5 and then exporting a midi but I open that midi in Reaper there no’s info in the file. Any ideas as to why?

You might be better off with Ziggy’s editor if you’re starting with GP5.

I don’t get why but whateverMake sure View / Show All note rows is selected in the MIDI editor. REAPER gets weird and shows nothing if that’s enabled before you load in a MIDI.

P.S.
I just imported the same midi into a brand new C3 Template and it came in fine. The problem happens only with a pre-existing reaper project.
November 20, 2014 at 12:41 pm #433203You’re importing the MIDI tracks over the existing tracks. Drag and drop the MIDI below the last existing MIDI track at 1.1.00.
November 21, 2014 at 2:28 pm #433293For Pro guitar/bass I suggest importing GP5 files into EoF, set EoF so when you save it saves rock band midis, save (it will export the midi file), then import that midi file into reaper. You might need to go back in EoF to generate hand positions (I really don’t know why, but Magma asks for that sometimes.)
Before importing the GP file, make sure the Structure (mostly time signatures, measures, etc (I.E. 2 measure of silence at begining is usually needed if you don’t want problems)) is the same as your rock band midi file.
November 21, 2014 at 10:21 pm #433345It shouldn’t be a problem, EOF will automatically generate hand positions temporarily when the RB3 MIDI is saved, if no positions are already defined.

Maybe it’s time to update EoF.
