This isn’t really that big of a deal, but I wonder if the new message link in the top right could be modified when there’s a new message. I often don’t notice it at first. Perhaps change the text to red when there’s a new message? Or make it blink or something? I don’t know, I’m not a web designer, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

You mean on top of changing the number? phpBB has a built-in setting to give you a browser popup when you have a new message, which I realize is kind of annoying, but it’s something we already have.

I go by email alerts, straight to my phone, i need to know as soon as i get messages or posts on my thread *takes things very seriously*

That’ll do just fine. I just get annoyed when I didn’t realize that I got a message like 12 hours ago.

If you go to Profile -> Board Preferences -> Edit global settings, there’s an option called “Pop up window on new private message.” Turn that on.
