I’m about to get weird with this last request. I’ve done many songs and even many more conversions. However, I have yet to see much in terms of video game music, specifically the Megaman X series. I was huge into the SNES versions of X-X3 and a lot of the chiptunes there are really nostalgic and memorable.

That brings me to my request. I’m not much for charting drums, but I found a way to separate each of the 8 game audio channels from the song .spc files. So, I’m making songs for X, X2, and X3 that are multiple stage’s music from their respective games, AND Multi-Track! This means each instrument will be separated and it will be the ORIGINAL audio, as if you were actually playing the game and not some remake or knock-off. This is the legit audio. If people want to 1-up these and would like to help, please, let me know!

    Megaman X Compilation: Title Screen–>Highway (Intro)–>Spark Mandrill–>Flame Mammoth–>Boomer Kuwanger–>Storm Eagle–>Victory [end]

    Megaman X2 Compilation: Title Screen–>Factory (Intro)–>Wheel Gator–>Magna Centipede–>Crystal Snail–>X-Hunter Stage 1–>Zero’s Theme [end]

    Megaman X3 Compilation: Title Screen–>Opening (Intro)–>Zero’s Theme–>Gravity Beetle–>Blast Hornet–>Toxic Seahorse–>Volt Catfish–>Vile’s Stage–>Victory [end]

X3 is getting a 1-song cut to shorten it, but none of them will exceed 8 minutes. I’m wanting to allow 2 loops of each song before it seamlessly transitions to the next.

Anything past X3 is disc-based, meaning all of the audio is coming directly from a file, and thus, isn’t able to have multi-tracks. However, we could still do full-band customs for those songs, but they’d have normal audio. Also, I’ve been wanting to reach out to a few of the creators from the Megaman X album “Maverick Hunter Rising” for 2 of their songs hoping to get multi-tracks for those as well. I’ve had them on my list forever:

Zero and the Plight of Iris

    Glorious Crystal Gleam

I don’t know too much about SNES audio, but from what I’ve found, I can get isolated tracks, but literally recorded in real time one at a time. It’s stupidly inefficient and no midi notes. If someone does know a better way, then it would be feasible.

I know this better way, and I can output the audio in ANY number of combinations of channels (solo in this case) and can output them as .wav (perfect for Reaper) or .midi (perfect for editing in Reaper). So basically I’d just have to fix up the notes to the right pitch and all the timings will be mostly there. It’s kinda like how you can do a “rough-pass” for vocals by throwing in a dryvox file.

Edit: Also, since it’s the actual .spc file, the renderings of each track will always line up perfectly, meaning no real-time capturing and no having to worry about a channel needing synced with the rest, it’s all PERFECT.

Here, StackOverflow. I posted a quick video showing it’s legit:

Okay, how is it done? I only tried SPC Tool and it’s an antique. How are you getting the midis and audio faster?

That’s actually how I’m using it. I’m running SPC Tool through DOSBox. It works wonders, honestly, and is definitely a one-of-a-kind.

Show me the process. SPC Tool could run, but I don’t know how it gets midis.

X1’s Render is done. Expert Guitar chart is finished. Bass/Rhythm is next. X2’s stems are all separated. X3 I may get from StackOverflow0x. All 3 songs are going to eventually get Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Keys. Anyone wanna help? I don’t do Drums and I don’t know shit for Keys aside from 5-Lane Keys following Guitar’s guidelines. The Drums are easy as it’s basically a Bass Pedal, Drum Pads, and the occasional Cymbal/Clash. Then it repeats.
