I am trying to make a custom, but I’m only 16 seconds in to making the tempo map of this song, and I am already ripping my hair out from frustration.

The thing is, the main riff has a constant switch in measure type. 3x 3/4 then 1x 7/8. And Reaper is being a huge pain in the ass. I am not sure if I am missing a trick here, but if I create a tempo marker, specify a different time signature, it does that, but that reverts when I add the next marker. Does anyone have some tricks to help with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to not be much help for this specific song but my advice is still solid: Pick a few simpler songs first with straight 4/4 beats before moving on to the more advanced stuff.

If you’re using the shortcuts, use T instead of Q when a measure changes time signature. If you’re not, you’re doing something wrong because Reaper doesn’t revert markers. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

With all due respect, the issue I am having is purely struggling with reaper, it doesn’t really have to do with the difficulty of the song. Charting a few more 4/4 songs won’t teach me how to insert time signature changes.

        Thanks, that helps a lot.
