Played through the entirety of “Promised Land” last night with the missus. She said the vocal tracks looked great, and I thought the Expert Drums were as they should be. (one moment where I thought a tom marker was dropped: I’ll make sure to stop the playback and note the position next time I see something like that)
Thanks so much for this experience, Farottone. My wife says she loves you. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
To be expected, there’s a lot of dead time at the end of “Promised Land” (the song) with the bar scene, so how hard would it be to release an additional “edit” version of it that chops it off? I suppose one of the big decisions would be what to do with the editing, but I’d always wondered: if the chart’s end event comes before the end of the audio, what happens to the audio? Does it just cut off when the scores come up? Does it play over the scores? Or did they have the foresight to fade it out?

Very glad you both enjoyed it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> My wife goes crazy because she consistently misses one phrase in Someone Else? (every time a different phrase) so she can’t FC it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif”> It’s a fun album, not challenging in anything except vocals, IMO.
Well, I left the song as it is because that’s how Harmonix would have done it, and on that note, I also used the official Radio Edit for Disconnected so that we don’t have the sound effect intro, to eliminate waiting times. I don’t mind waiting a few seconds after the actual playable part has ended and it’s safe to say it’s the most faithful reproduction. However, I can send you a MIDI with the ending clipped, you can replace your own in LeFluffie. I don’t want to release a different versions because I don’t want to fragment downloads.

I don’t want to release a different versions because I don’t want to fragment downloads.Well, I suppose I could always extract the MIDI myself if I were so motivated. After all, it would still be up to *me* to keep it in sync with any fixes you made in the future! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> I go back and forth on it anyway: you can opt for the authentic album experience, or you can try to embrace the “rock concert” milieu and adapt it to how the band would do it live…
Actually, there are a few official DLC tracks that I’d be interested in buying if only they would have used a radio edit. Sometimes we just want to get in and out of a pop hit, savor the hooks and belt out the chorus! “Weird Science” comes to mind — totally wears out its welcome…
Perhaps I’ll corner @espher sometime about how to make RBHP-style updates to that end. For instance, how did Lego RB do their short versions?

May 4, 2013 at 5:42 pm #399201Oh Thanks sooo much! Queensrÿche just Rocks! Plus a full album…who could ask for more
Thanks Again for all your hard work and the time you spent on making this happen!!!
The King is Dead! LONG LIVE C3!!!!!!
May 6, 2013 at 7:41 pm #399309Great song choices, but for It’s So Easy on guitar. During the choruses when the guitar slides from O B Y to a GR chord it seems a little funky to me and could be a major pain for some people (unless this was your intention) ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> but if you ever think about changing it, maybe you can change it to a Y B Y then a GR chord. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> just a suggestion.

Ha, good point! For me, “Clint Eastwood” immediately comes to mind.
June 23, 2013 at 4:03 pm #402023Hey Farottone,
Since this thread is like 2 months old, not sure if it’s appropriate to post here or just PM you, but I finally had to say something…
I have strong suspicions that the tempo map on “I Am I/Damaged” is, erm, damaged. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> Specifically, I’m finding that in playing drums in the “Damaged” half I’m getting spurious misses in parts where it’s really pretty easy stuff. This was a head-scratcher for a while, because hey, everyone has their bad days when they’re just “off” and I’m not above denying my sloppiness as a player… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
But I tried an experiment this morning where I transferred the single-song “Damaged” to my 360 and played it, and damned if all of those mystery misses disappeared.
So what I suspect is that in welding the songs together, *something* went wonky in the tempo map in the second half. Like maybe just one tempo marker was deleted, shifting everything after it just enough to occasionally push hits out of the timing window.
Something to look at, at least.

No, tempo map is fine, it’s the audio that’s misaligned, because of the way the two songs are cut and because I messed up. The song is easy enough that I didn’t notice this in testing, maybe. I’ll be updating the fixed version probably next week, thanks for the heads up!
June 23, 2013 at 7:06 pm #402027Ah, I suppose that’s the flip-side of the same “not synced” coin.
Anyway, good to hear you’re on it, as it’s still one of our favorite releases. The missus also loves you for the GNR last week: she adores “Live and Let Die”! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
