I’ve searched around and read a few cryptic examples so I figured I would ask the group.
When I have multi-tracks for all instruments in Magma, do I need to use the backing track of all instruments together as well?
Seems to me like I would be defeating the purpose of using multi-tracks but at the same time I don’t want to keep wondering if I am doing it the right way or not.
Thanks in advance!!

July 10, 2019 at 4:29 am #505966So let me understand, cause I have multi-tracks I do not need the complete song in the backing track at all then? Ok, got it.
ummmm My count-in is on the crowd track.
July 10, 2019 at 7:08 am #505968As Fugg said, the backing track would be everything like the count-in, miscellaneous percussion, effects, and occasionally extra guitars/keys/etc.

No. When you have multi-tracks, you do not want to put the complete song on the backing track. You only want parts that aren’t being played on the game charts (guitar, bass, drums, and so on).

Bad idea. The crowd track doesn’t come in until the entire band is at the top of the audience meter. Since all players are a good bit below the top at the start of every song, you’ll never hear the very beginning of a crowd track, including any count-in that might be there. Use the backing track instead.

Fuji, this helps take a lot of the cryptic answers I have read in other threads and now makes sense to me. Thank you so much for the clarification!

July 10, 2019 at 9:36 pm #505978It’s exactly what you said, but I sometimes think a “yes or no” question needs to be answered with a “yes” or “no”, and then the explanation. My apologies. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
July 10, 2019 at 10:37 pm #505980I’m just teasing, your response was spot-on!

This is going to help me a lot and explains a few things that I needed clarification on. Now I have to go back and re-do a few customs
