Guitar Hero had a gimmick that I really miss – combining a long sustain on one button with notes played on others, i.e., long orange sustain coupled with green-red-yellow-red-green-red-yellow. This doesn’t seem to be legal in RB and causes magma errors.
Does anyone know of a work-around?

It will just make you miss the other notes. For example if it was a green sustain and added red and you strummed red, it should get rid of the held green sustain.

I honestly gave up telling people how to author properly for the platform.

In all honesty, the amount of stuff Magma does is hard to keep up with. I totally forgot about that feature, mostily because I DON’T GO AROUND MAKING NON-MAGMA COMPLIANT MIDI.

But does it change the engine?
May 16, 2014 at 4:03 pm #420436Obviously not, but he asked about a workaround for “it” breaking Magma. Some workarounds were offered, but by far not the easiest ones, which is what I recommended.
Whether it will work in game or not depends to the game engine…and obviously that’s separate. But plenty of things “work” in game that break Magma and don’t agree with any kind of rule, so it justifies having the override function.
