I’m currently working on the vocal part to Deus in Absentia by Ghost. The lyrics are mostly in English, except the ending features chorale-like vocals in Latin, repeating the phrase “deus in absentia.” The word “absentia” is pronounced as ab-SEN-see-ah, but the “see” sound isn’t indicated by the t in the word, at least not in English. Should I divide the word as ab-sen-ti-a, or should I divide it phonetically?
Technically the t is a hard z in Latin. Listening to it, sometimes it sounds like 4 syllables, sometimes it’s just 3, so I’d do follow the original.

What do you mean by “original”?
What the song does, simply.
Alright, thanks man!
