KyleJCrbParticipantThese might be the last two tracks I release for a while, I think. If anyone wants to take a crack at upgrading any of the songs I’ve released in this thread, let me know and I will be than happy to share the source files (audio, RPP, etc.)

AkiraNomuraBCNMemberI have the FoF versions of these songs
There are any difference in your conversions?

For the most part, no. I’ve used slightly-higher quality audio for most of them, added 5-lane keys to some (mostly by adapting other parts,) and somewhat cleaned up the charting on a few, but otherwise they are identical to Inimitable’s FoF charts. The main features are compatibility with Rock Band 3 and venue animations (mostly autogenerated, but better than nothing.)

KyleJCrbParticipantAny chance you have a copy of Inimitable’s Crystal Flash by Virt for RB3?I’ve been putting a little extra work into that one venue-wise since it’s one of my favorite songs. Hopefully it won’t take too long!

At first glance this may look just like
. What’s different, you ask? Try playing guitar, bass, or drums on a lower difficulty.

C16MemberEMHX? FUCK YEAH! Did you grab his version and do reductions? I’m glad I kept messaging him to put up his old version, if that’s the case then!

SideshowParticipantI didnt play this version yet but when I added it to my library it was 28MB compared to the older version which was 6MB.

KyleJCrbParticipantEMHX? FUCK YEAH! Did you grab his version and do reductions? I’m glad I kept messaging him to put up his old version, if that’s the case then!Yep, I reduced down EMH from SoundDefenseRB’s original chart and replaced the song audio with a higher quality version. Since Crush 40 is one of my favorite bands, and I only keep EMHX tracks in my library (especially since I play drums on Hard/Medium,) I absolutely had to do this.
I didnt play this version yet but when I added it to my library it was 28MB compared to the older version which was 6MB.Yeah, I noticed that too. I’m not sure why, to be honest. I used empty wav files for the instruments and the original song for backing, but maybe I’m doing something wrong.

C16MemberMaybe the audio quality is the difference. Really though, who’s worried that much about 20MBs?
March 11, 2014 at 6:00 am #415397
SideshowParticipantSeeing the larger file size I thought that maybe multitrack audio was being used.

KyleJCrbParticipantSeeing the larger file size I thought that maybe multitrack audio was being used.Unfortunately multitracks for this song probably don’t exist outside of SEGA/Wavemaster, so it’s just the standard audio version.

I used empty wav files for the instruments and the original song for backing, but maybe I’m doing something wrong.Check if the WAV have a lot of silence at the end, that is sure to ramp up the file size and it occurs if you render it without dragging back the MIDI tracks to end about at the same time as the [end] event.
