Great to see another Zappa track with full band and all difficulties. Thanks, and I echo all of the sentiments above.

I would have thought a lot of his music would be right up a lot of people’s alley here, what with all of the Dream Theatre and Rush that I see – neither of which is my cup of tea, but FZ definately is. Klop, your “Peaches En Regalia” is SO GOOD. I encourage you to tackle more full band Zappa, such as the title cut from Zoot Allures. Take all the time that you need. I’d be thrilled to test works in progress.

Mr. Bungle 3.5-pack
1. Carry Stress in the Jaw / The Secret Song
The craziest song from this pack, Carry Stress in the Jaw. The album version includes a “bonus” song called The Secret Song, based on an inside-joke in the band.
Carry Stress in the Jaw is a big mess switching back and forth between jazz and death metal that I find really fun to play.
The Secret Song is your go-to song to sing with the voice of grampa Simpson on a surf-rock song. The guitar/vocals duet is really the highlight of the song!

2. Stubb (a Dub)
This song is about Trey Spruance’s (the guitarist) dog who died at the time they recorded the album, if I recall correctly. That’s your one-time opportunity to yell “THANKS MOM” or “GLAUCOMA” in the mic. This song is a blast to play on everything, except maybe guitar (on which I charted sax) which is a bit sparse.

3. Retrovertigo
Their most pop-ish song (actually a power ballad), that some may enjoy even if they don’t like the usual craziness of Mr. Bungle. There isn’t much going on instrument-wise, but this song is so great to sing that I had to chart it.
