Keys and venues not working

I think I spotted what the issue is, but I’m not sure how to fix it, so I’m seeing if anyone has ran into this issue in the past and has a solution.
I was using customs before and everything worked fine. One day I went to play and noticed the venues were no longer working and the option for keys has totally been removed as well. I checked and double checked and all the TU5 and game save stuff is removed and on another stick, and I have tu4 on my custom stick.
I looked into the save files on my 360 hard drive and it’s showing a slot for Rock Band 1, Rock Band 2…and instead of Rock Band 3 it has somehow renamed the rock Band 3 file as a second rock band 2 file. This is on my 360 hard drive.
So NONE of the post RB3 content works right. Not even the official HMX stuff. It doesn’t recognize the keys and the venues don’t work (since for some reason my RB3 dlc is in this second RB2 save file all the sudden).
Now when I play the Games on Demand version…all the RB3 DLC works just fine. It’s only when I’m using the Customs, the EA RB3 disc and the TU4 memory stick that the keys are missing and the venues are non functional.
Sooooo anyone know of a fix to this?

There’s your problem.
July 5, 2013 at 3:31 pm #402716No nothing is saved on my 360 hard drive in regards to customs. I was referring to the song and dlc save areas that is made by each game when you download dlc from the marketplace.
There was a rb1, rb2, and rb3 icon for all my hmx dlc on my 360 hard drive, but now the rb3 icon has turned to a second rb2 icon and none of the rb3 dlc on my hard drive or customs on my custom stick have rb3 features (keys, venues, etc).
All the customs are on a thumbstick along with tu4.
Its just the area where i downloaded all the post rb3 dlc used to be labeled as rb3, and now its renamed itself as a second rb2 dlc save slot and i have no idea how it did that or how to change it back. As i’m assuming that is the issue. That it thinks the rb3 dlc is on rb2 so none of the rb3 features will work. However that happend.

Can you take a picture of that?
July 5, 2013 at 3:56 pm #402718I ran into this with a USB key once, actually… I created a new RB3 folder and then moved the RB3 content into it from that bugged RB2 folder, and it seemed to work. You may want to try and create the RB3 folder and put a file into it on your USB stick and then try to move it to the 360 to create the folder, then move the files from your HD to USB, move them to the right folder via your PC, and then move them back onto the console.
Clear as mud? Good. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
July 5, 2013 at 4:12 pm #402719Yeah I’ll try the folder trick. How do you create a new rb3 folder? I tried to delete one of my rb3 dlc songs and redownload it in hopes that it would create a new rb3 folder but it just threw it in the second rb2 folder again instead.
July 5, 2013 at 7:36 pm #402722The folder name is determined by the xbox based on the content inside. If you look at the hard drive in horizon or party buffalo you see it still has the rb3 folder id. For me my rb3 folder shows as rb1. Everything works fine.
Delete your song cache and try again.
July 5, 2013 at 10:50 pm #402742Okay I went in deleted all song caches, and made sure all the old pre custom saves and settings were on the Tu5 save stick.
I rebuilt the song cache just using my Rock Band 3 and the Rock Band 3 (and 2 and 1) dlc and downloaded TU5 update to get it to ‘reboot’.
That worked. The file renamed itself RB3, the RB3 dlc was working exactly as it had pre tu4 and customs.
So I back out, go to my hard drive, delete Tu5 from the 360 hard drive, make sure tu4 is on my custom stick with my customs.
Turn RB3 on, decline the update, wait for the custom songs to load into the cache, and it’s right back to doing the thing where the venues don’t animate on all post RB3 DLC, and the keys don’t work as a selectable option.
So I have no idea what to try or how to fix it. I’m assuming it has to be something on that thumbdrive that’s doing it, but I don’t know what as I’m not seeing any corrupt files, or anything out of the ordinary.
July 10, 2013 at 5:23 am #402869There’s a file in your RB3 folder that has an incorrect Title ID number. You need to find it and change it to RB3’s title ID. It’s not going to be a corrupt file and it’s very possible that it’s a Rock Band 2 era song.

July 10, 2013 at 12:18 pm #402882The game could possibly treat content loaded from pre-RB3 folders as pre-RB3 content and just not load post-RB3 tracks?
Would be weird but not implausible.
