October 15, 2015 at 6:37 pm #457621So just thought I’d pop in and say that my next custom (which is, of course, Medicine Man) should be released within the next two weeks. It is almost all done, just about 1/3 of the vocals, some drum finishing touches, OD, and Venue to go.
Also I want to keep a record of my process of adding my songs to the Customs Database here. My policy is to only upload songs that I consider 100% done as far as I can take them with my current skills. Right now that includes: All audible instruments charted; at least CAT reductions; at least unpitched vocals for all vocal parts; at least autogenerated ProKeys where applicable; and a unique numeric song ID. Some of these are waived for conversions for the time being. If anyone wants to add more professional parts, let me know and I’ll provide the projects.
Here is my progress list so far (I will also add to OP):
- The Rolling Stones – Get Off Of My Cloud: Added
- The Sounds – Shake Shake Shake: Needs Vocal Updates
- George Thorogood and the Destroyers – Move It On Over (Live): Needs new ID
- The Rolling Stones – Brown Sugar: Needs new ID, Vocal Updates, Guitar updates, Bass Updates
- The Donnas – Fall Behind Me: Needs New ID, possible Drum updates
- The Rolling Stones – Prodigal Son (Live): Needs new ID
- The Rolling Stones – You Gotta Move (Live): Needs new ID
- The Rolling Stones – I’m Free (Live): Needs new ID
- The Rolling Stones – Stray Cat Blues: Needs new ID
That is all for now, but I hope to be back soon with more!
P.S. Also added some new hints to the OP. Enjoy!
October 16, 2015 at 2:27 pm #457664Mystery Song 4
Hint: A guy who might be found in a brawler.
Mystery Song 5
Hint: You’ve had so many, why not one more?
Mystery Song 6
Hint: A girl’s name.
Mystery Song 7
Hint: This song contains a line about a specific type of horse.
That’s it. My plan at the moment is to alternate releases between Stones songs and non-Stones favorites.
My guesses:
#4 – The Rolling Stones – Street Fighting Man
#5 – George Thorogood & The Destroyers – One Bourbon, One Shot, One Beer
#6 – The Rolling Stones – Angie
#7 – The Rolling Stones – Wild Horses

October 16, 2015 at 3:58 pm #457676Some interesting guesses ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> Hopefully you won’t have to wait TOO long to find out if you were right ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
December 8, 2015 at 10:06 pm #460516I just thought I’d pop in and say that I’m currently working on a Super Awesome song along with a Super Awesome author. I’m not sure where it will be released (besides the database of course), but I just wanted to get you guys’ expectations up ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
December 9, 2015 at 9:48 pm #460556Well, that sounds super awesome!
Looking forward to it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
January 6, 2016 at 8:26 pm #461704Hey sports fans!
Just thought I would give a little teaser update.
My new song should be out as soon as my test version checks out, could be as early as tomorrow. Certainly it will be by end of day Friday.
A couple more hints:
My collaborator is Dash Riprock. Without him this song would not have been done (by me at least).
It is one of the biggest ‘Why is this song not in RB?!?!?’ songs, imo.
It’s from 1984.
I was going to give another hint but I thought it might give it away too easily. However, in the future, I think I may just post what song I am working on. I was terrified all during this production because I was worried someone else might be secretly working on it ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Oh and some funny director’s commentary: While trying to add some specific camera cuts to the venue, I couldn’t figure out why my changes were not taking effect on the finished song. Turns out, I was editing the exported venue track and not the actual one. D’oh!
January 7, 2016 at 2:29 pm #461737Please be purple rain! Please be purple rain!
January 7, 2016 at 5:24 pm #461742Sorry ckovanda ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> It turned out to be I Can’t Drive 55 instead. Still a great song!
Also in my newfound desire to be open, my next release in the Kem & Friends Customs thread will be:
The Rolling Stones – 19th Nervous Breakdown
Made possible by contributions from CrazyCanuck and Dash Riprock.
This was Mystery Song #5, by the way.
January 7, 2016 at 10:50 pm #461753I’m not even disappointed, great song!
January 8, 2016 at 9:17 pm #461770A collaboration with CrazyCanuck and Dash Riprock.
I have a rough test version here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/0boez9c0my5pp9c/stones19thV6DBGVU_rb3con
In all honesty this one has been kicking my ass (mostly on guitar, just the end bit on bass) so it may not be perfect when it releases. If anyone who decides to try the test can give some feedback that would be great. Otherwise it might have to be an as-is custom.
Liner notes:
CrazyCanuck: Tempo Map, Drums
Dash Riprock: Vocals
Kemiroch: Guitar, Bass, Venue
Dave Grohl: Producer
January 13, 2016 at 1:28 am #461992I played “19th Nervous Breakdown” tonight. “Hard” guitar and vocals. My impressions are that the count-in feels very fast(the gems start scrolling before the count-in is finished and the “Ready” text disappears from the screen), and “Hard” guitar was really, *really* hard. I understand that it’s CAT, but I had trouble finishing the song (I think my score was 79%…I usually get high 90’s in most songs on “Hard”).
Vocals look good. Lengths, pitch, and spelling of lyrics okay.
January 13, 2016 at 1:16 pm #462004Yeah I played it too. I forgot to fix the sound, first of all; that’s on me.
I didn’t notice the count-in thing, but I will revisit it. Can’t have that.
There are quite a few places (at least on expert guitar) where I don’t feel the notes were lining up right. Maybe that’s why you had so much trouble. I’ll give it another pass here soon.
Thanks for the feedback!
