I have a song where the beat is maintained (during a progressive roll), via the hi-hat pedal.

 

Is it possible (or even wise?), to attempt to author this…? Fine for those of us with a Hi-Hat pedal/ alternative but others could well struggle … thanks.

If both hands are being used for the roll, I’d say don’t author it, since the base kit doesn’t have a hi-hat pedal.

agreed. Only author during simple measures where not a lot else is going on
