January 14, 2014 at 7:09 pm #412215Jesus every song in here would be a dream to have on Rock Band… I absolutely love singing Judas Priest songs. Any potential future custom tracks released in the future will be loved dearly.
My buddy just found Ram it Down, I’m gonna start an other customs thread and post that along with one other song he sent to me later tonight. First I want to make sure the thing works right and at least has overdrive and solo markers. Its guitar and drums only, unfortunately, but I’ll upload the files so if anyone would like to pick it up and add bass and vocals, they can. I don’t honestly have any intention of taking on the task myself, as right now, my priority is just finding any of these customs and sharing them with all of the people here, and plus, I’m bad at charting vocals. Tried it a few times on my own and I’m not very good at it at all. I just don’t know the notes well enough.
January 14, 2014 at 8:10 pm #412221Awesome! I really hope somebody at C3 picks it up for a full release someday.
January 15, 2014 at 3:04 am #412243Ram it Down works, but I’ve got to add solo markers to guitar. I’ve also got to add drum fills. The drums are definitely a bit wonkey in general too, but I they’re at least playable enough. This does certainly need some work though.
July 27, 2014 at 9:11 pm #425694Well, considering that the Ram it Down custom is just not playable, and I figure that I’ll just let that idea go rather than waste peoples time. I did find out the origin of the chart was the Frets on Fire forums though, originally authored by GhostByob. The guitar chart is fairly good.
Whoever it was that did the drums, however, didn’t have any idea what they were doing. The thing is seriously very messy upon even just a quick look. I was roaming the board when I saw this topic and started wondering why I never got around to fixing up Ram it Down, or why I don’t have it in my library (it is one of my favorites from that album). I found and opened the project file and I saw that the chart is far worse than I had originally thought and I think I must have been too busy to bother fixing it (much like I am now). Not to mention, I’m just not very good at charting to boot anyhow.
Practically none of the notes are lined up to the grid and there are several notes that do not belong. To start with the tempo map is just not where it needs to be for a Rock Band chart. It’s clear that whoever attempted to put this into the game didn’t take the time to properly translate it to be correctly playable in Rock Band. I would go through and fix this thing, but as I stated before, I’m not too keen on charting, and its been months since I even looked at a Rock Band midi at all.
Of course, if anyone else would like to take a look at fixing it (and perhaps share with others on here ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />), I’d be glad to send the project file to you via a PM. Just say the word and I’ll upload it to Mediafire and send the link your way.
Just as a note, if you message me I may not reply that same day. I sometimes don’t log in for more than a couple minutes, but don’t worry, I’ll quickly get back to you as soon as I see the message ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Anyhow, I’ve also revived this topic because, as any major Priest fan on here knows already, they’ve just released a new album called ‘Redeemer of Souls’. Aside from the title track, I personally like it a lot. Many have said they don’t care for tracks 6-8, but I like the entire album, including the bonus tracks.
I doubt I’d be posting this and bringing this topic back if I didn’t want to say that I really would like to see some of the tracks from the new Priest album charted if anyone would want to spare the time. I’ve noticed there isn’t a lot of interest in charting Priest as of now, so I don’t really want to hold my breath, but I’d love to see it happen. It would put smiles on the faces of around thirty people that I play RB3 with on Saturday nights too.
My favorites from ‘Redeemer of Souls’:
1: Tears of Blood
2: Battle Cry
3: Halls of Valhalla
4: Creatures
5: Sword of Damocles
July 28, 2014 at 3:55 pm #425736It’s not on the list, but I did do Heavy Metal from the Ram it Down album viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1110
July 30, 2014 at 4:44 pm #425902I’d be happy to see customs for any of the songs already mentioned but one song I’ll add to the list is “FreeWheel Burning”
July 30, 2014 at 5:15 pm #425906Anything (else) from “Defenders of the Faith” ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
July 30, 2014 at 5:42 pm #425910Alright so I’ve compiled a list of songs I’ve seen requested more than three times on here or on the FOF forums (for either PS or Rock Band), and what ones I’ve seen customs of:
Sorted by album. Bolded means someone has released a custom in some form, bold with green means full band, and bold with green and the words ‘C3’ next to it means its in the database. Some of these exist, but maybe they don’t function very well, or they are very difficult to find these days. I have some, but they aren’t really very much worth sharing, unfortunately.
From Redeemer of Souls (this ones more of my personal requests, the whole albums great, but I’d love to play these)
Halls of Valhalla
Sword of Damocles
Cold Blooded
Metalizer
Secrets of the Dead
Battle Cry
Tears of Blood
Creatures
From Angel of Retribution
Judas Rising
Deal with the Devil
Demonizer
Wheels of Fire
Hell Rider
From Halford [Rob Halford’s self titled solo album, very Priest like at times]
Resurrection
The One You Love to Hate [ft. Bruce Dickinson]
From Demolition
Machine Man
From Jugulator
Bullet Train
Cathedral Spires
From Painkiller
Pretty much the whole album has been requested constantly
From Ram it Down
Ram It Down (It exists, but not in very playable form, no link currently available)
Heavy Metal (Link can be found here)
Johnny B Goode
From Turbo
Turbo Lover (charted by gpumeatball)
Reckless
From Defenders of the Faith
Freewheel Burning
The Sentinel
Love Bites
Some Heads are Gonna Roll
From Point of Entry
Heading Out To The Highway
Desert Plains
Solar Angels
Thunder Road (bonus track)
From British Steel [studio Version, not 20th Anniversary Live]
Metal Gods
Breaking the Law (Had it, wasn’t very good, tempo map was rather poor, drums and guitar only)
Living After Midnight (Same as Breaking The Law)
From Hell-Bent For Leather aka Killing Machine
Delivering the Goods
The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Prong Crown)
Hell-Bent for Leather (C3)
From Stained Class
Exciter (Found on HDD, doesn’t really work too well, guitar is way over charted and the sync is terrible)
Stained Class
Beyond the Realms of Death
From Sin After Sin
Sinner
Diamonds and Rust
Starbreaker (Charted by gpumeatball)
Dissident Aggressor
From Sad Wings of Destiny
Victim of Changes (Don’t know where to find it or how good it is)

Further updates to the list when I get home from work.
Personally I would have the whole album British Steel in non-live format if you know what I mean.
July 30, 2014 at 7:00 pm #425924Great list Gta, I did work on Starbreaker and I think I got as far as Expert Guitar/Drums then moved on to work on Turbo Lover where I did X Guitar, Bass, Drums, and some (bad) vocals. It’s a lot of work so I lost interest.. I might do more in the future though especially since the new album was great!
July 30, 2014 at 7:29 pm #425931Personally I would have the whole album British Steel in non-live format if you know what I mean.Absolutely! I was pretty much listing the songs that I’ve seen requested most often from British Steel, but I’ve seen the whole thing requested.
I really wish they had released DLC of studio stuff instead of live stuff in general. Thats one thing that always pissed me off. The fact that they used live tracks for British Steel… and rather poorly mixed live tracks to boot, is just annoying.
Lets not kid here, the tracks they released are absolute classics, but the live versions on the other hand… aren’t. They simply do the tracks no justice in Rock Band, especially in the case of Dissident Aggressor. Eat Me Alive was not too bad, but the studio version would be far preferred. For British Steel, don’t get me wrong, the 20th anniversary DVD isn’t bad at all, its actually pretty damn good, but for Rock Band, where clear sound is somewhat of needed, that audio doesn’t cut it.
I hope some day someone (or several people) gives the studio edition of British Steel some love and charts it.
