This was the first custom I ever tried making since I was able to find the multitrack but I skipped a lot of steps and ultimately I don’t have anything usable. I’ll try again! This is something I’d likely take a long time to work on, so if you want to take a stab at it on my behalf let me know! I’d love to work with you.

You can upload the song as long as you have tried your best to reach the original author. They don’t like having duplicates in the database, but when authors become unavailable like this, it puts you in sort of an awkward position. It’s presumed that your version is better. So I would message a moderator so they can decide whether or not to leave both of them in there or remove one. You could also consider putting a link to your new one in the comments of the original one, I don’t see why that wouldn’t be allowed.

Me, personally, I’ve made changes to about a dozen songs by other authors – mostly adding or fixing the medium/hard difficulties – but I haven’t reached out to the original authors yet. It’s time that I’d rather spend in reaper or in testing. So I probably won’t, but that’s just me.
