what’s the main sign when you don’t have to add the upgrade.dta just the song.dta?

when all three files are present. i saw the video but i think he said when pro instruments aren’t added?

Depending on your upgrade path and the upgrades you’re applying, you can sometimes skip the upgrades.dta file. However, most of the time you’ll need all three files, and even when you don’t there is no harm in applying all three files. So the safest bet is to toss them all in.
