Is there anyway to get lip sync like real dlc?

Would there theoretically be any way to augment the lipsync from dryvox the way Harmonix does it? You said that MagmaCompiler has extra features for various expressions and such – would it be possible to do anything to trigger any of this manually? Or, rather, would it be possible for *us* to do anything with it.

It might be hard, but hey, so is almost everything else about making really quality customs.

And almost everything else is also slightly more important than something even Harmonix dropped from official DLC… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

February 3, 2015 at 12:49 am #437626It’s easy to dismiss comments like farottone’s as you’re doing now when you’re the end user who is just (typically) mooching off the hard work that went into creating the tools. Understand that the only reason it’s as “hard” as it is now, it’s because of the thousands of man hours that have gone into creating and refining the tools we all rely on now. If you think making a quality custom in 2015 is hard, you should have seen how it was back in 2011.
From my point of view, getting “better” lipsync requires nyxyxylyth or someone like him figuring out the backend of things, then me having to port the code into Magma: C3 and making it user friendly. I don’t think any of the people required to make it reach the end user are very interested in making it happen.
But hey, if you figure out how it works, and can write it up in C#, send it and I’ll credit you for the hard work ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> Surely if it was available, people would use it. But that’s not enough motivation to do the hard work it will require.
February 3, 2015 at 5:19 am #437637I’m still testing things out, every time there is talking the lip sync is better, but I don’t mean singing, I still got to play around with that idea, and with singing a long note, the lip sync always does not go for long. so maybe turning up the volume will make it keep it’s month open.
February 13, 2015 at 10:06 am #438266Also does anyone know how the lip sync on this song is so good – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnZQYa895E0
February 13, 2015 at 10:24 am #438268Also does anyone know how the lip sync on this song is so good – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnZQYa895E0Please, understand that what I’m about to write is everything you will ever learn about lipsync:
– Customs lipsync depends on dry vox files. The more pronounced the phonemes, the better the lip sync. A good dry vox, with pronounced phonemes, is as good as your customs will look like. If you see a custom with great lip sync it means that either the dry vox file has been recorded emphasizing problematic phonemes or the song has few or none of the problematic phonemes. Don’t ask which phonemes are problematic, just record a dry vox emphasizing all phonemes you see wrong once you test your song in game.
– HMX released songs use a system we can’t access that allows them to customise lips movement, hence the better quality of their songs up to the very last release, that used the dry vox method and nothing more.
It’s ok to try and contribute but you have had your answers for months, it does you or us no good to keep asking the same questions. If you find a way to create awesome lipsync please share it, but there is nothing more we can tell you, you need to start working and testing for yourself as any other user who contributed on some aspects of the development of our tools and docs did.
February 13, 2015 at 1:49 pm #438274I do have a idea of making sounds and if the month opens right, then you keep placing the same word over and over and you have to do it for every word in the song.
February 14, 2015 at 11:42 am #438362OK the idea did not work.
February 14, 2015 at 11:42 am #438363Also what are phonems?
February 14, 2015 at 1:13 pm #438366February 14, 2015 at 5:02 pm #438377OK, maybe if I keep saying one of words over and over off this page would it work – http://blog.maketaketeach.com/wp-conten … -Words.pdf
February 14, 2015 at 5:16 pm #438379Maybe there’s a better way to put this.
Imagine we’re both trying to paint a painting. We’ve taken our time learning, we’ve been watching Bob Ross videos non-stop until we’re really good at painting happy little trees, and it’s the moment of truth.
Harmonix has the following set of tools to paint with:

Lots of brushes of different shapes and sizes and styles.
On the other hand, we have this:

You can be as elite with a paint roller as you want, but it’s not going to let you do fine cutting-in easily if at all.
That’s the lip sync situation.
