Is it possible to add album art to Rock band 1 ?

It is possible, but most times unnecessary. The RB3 disc has a lot of extra bits to fill in blanks left by the earlier song formats, including album art for RB1 and early DLC tracks.

If you exported the RB1 songs as instructed, that is, paying for the export while it was still for sale and then letting the game do its thing copying the songs to your hard drive, then everything should be lined up for the later Rock Band games to recognize the songs and fill in the blanks. Early DLC should be recognized in a similar manner.
