I am looking at upgrading my RB2 drum kit (with the 3 cymbals) to an Ion drum set. I see an ad for the following:

Ion drum rocker electronic drum kit with added 3 Pintech TC premium cymbals that all work great with this kit. I’ve also added a real Roland KD-8 kick drum trigger pad and a real kick drum pedal with a kickbox. The kick box is used so you can play a real Roland KD-8 kick drum pad with real pedal on any Rock Band Game. The drum pedals are new never used. Drum tools are included for adjustments. There are four sets of brand name drumsticks and 10 cables to wire everything. Everything is in great condition and works perfectly.

They are asking $370 for everything (also includes shipping). Is this a good deal????

If it’s rockbandparts.com stay away. Sounds decent otherwise. When I HAD to have an Ion, Ebay was the only place I found one that wasn’t ridiculously priced. I payed about $500 used and that only came with double kick petals and one broke after a dozen uses. The kickbox is a nice add-on. If it looks to be in good shape go for it.

Not rockbandparts.com This is a Craigslist ad. However I am not in the area to check it out but requesting him to ship. After going back and forth we got down to $370 for everything. The pictures look great on it, just wondering if it’s worth the price. I am a moderate drummer (play hard and some expert). Are these good cymbals to use, good kick pedal for a casual Rock Band player (are they durable and will they be good for now?) Is this the equipment I should stick with in the long run or will I eventually want to “upgrade” parts of this kit?

The IONs are certainly an awesome deal, and those cymbals will definitely suit you. I’ve been using stock ION everything for almost 6 years now and they’ve been nothing but awesome (save for some bubbly pads that are a little nerve wracking but easy to fix), and everything else that comes with sounds like nothing but an upgrade to that. I’d say go for it!

I’ve used Ions ever since they released after Rock Band 2 and they still work great to this day. I’ve heard those type of cymbals work pretty well, and the kick stuff sounds good too. I’d say go for it, if you’ve got the money.

I’ve loved my ion for years, but you’ll definitely want to upgrade your snare to a mesh pintech snare for accuracy.

I love my iONs. I have a DTXpressIV, which is awesome, but the ease of use with the iONs has me using them more than the real electric set.

Thank you all! I feel more confident in my purchase now. Should have it by this weekend to start rocking out a whole new way.
