I made a custom track messing around, it’s the main theme for the movie “Escape From New York” Drums only as a tester. I got it through Magma and everything, but the chart and the music don’t match up, even though in reaper the 2 charts were right on top of each other, mapped perfectly, and in the RBN Preview window it reflects being just perfect. is there a step I’m missing somewhere? The chart starts way too early, should I move the drum chart to the right and see if it syncs up? Even though then in Reaper it won’t be lined up in the RBN Preview window? If anyone has this problem or knows how to fix it, it would be helpful.
Two causes:
1) You have imported in Magma the original audio file with no blank space at the beginning instead of the audio file you need to render out in Reaper, with the proper count in and blank space at the beginning (very likely)
2) Your tempo map has an issue where if you use a time signature in the wrong way, the MIDI track gest fudged up (more rare).
Check 1, if not, post the Reaper project.
OK is there a step-by-step method to doing that posted somewhere? Im sorry for my ignorance but this is my first go at it. And also would adding a blank space at the beginning push the audio track further up, when I need the audio to start earlier? (Or the drums to start later)
In Reaper, mute everything except for the count in and the audio track, then File > Render. Sample rate 44,1 KHz, stereo, 16 bit. Use that in Magma. If it doesn’t work, post the project. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
did you make sure embed tempo map is checked marked when you export the midi from reaper?

Exactly what I was going to ask. Very common issue.
I’ll try the embed tempo map trick when I get home, hopefully it’ll work because I went through the whole song and tempo mapped every 4th beat so I think I did it right. I’ll post my findings later, probably about 6 hours or so from now. Thanks for the help in the meantime though. Great community here.
Ok just an update it was the rendering of the Wav file length did not match the notes. So thanks for that. Also I would get sometimes that there is not submix on the drums, I fixed if but I’m not sure how. Do you just move all 4 sliders to the first note of the song for all difficulties?
