This is an iconic song that should be in our library. I recently found a drums only custom of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida written by Blitzbob. I have added a guitar chart (or a first draft of one).
This one deserves a full band treatment. Any volunteers? I may try bass.
The rbcon, Reaper file and audio tracks are here for anyone interested in trying it out, or working on it.

Fair enough, or maybe tier 5.
June 28, 2014 at 4:37 pm #423603I would think playing drums nonstop for 17 minutes straight would be one hell of an endurance test. Add a lot of fancy drum fills in there and I’d say it’s devils.

June 28, 2014 at 5:51 pm #423613Sweet. So needed in RB. I may take a crack at adding an instrument once my plate clears off a bit, but someone better should probably do it ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

June 28, 2014 at 9:44 pm #423627I actually recorded a video a while back of the Blitzbob drum chart. The drums should at least be a 5 tier.

I’ll add bass, 5-lane keys, and vocals to it. I’ll also have to heavily re-edit my original drum chart since there are probably plenty of mistakes. Regarding the tiering, yes, 3 dots is a little low. It should probably be put in the high end of 5. A good portion of the song is a simple beat and there really isn’t anything that insane to warrant it being devils.

Well if you’re playing at nightmare tier you should be able to at least manage to make it through the grooves, and have the endurance to do them. The only hard bit for novice players is the solo, managing to keep the kick on rhythm with the fills.
I’m re-charting the guitar, it was completely off. I’m also going to include the radio edit as well.

I checked out the video where Sideshow played through the chart, and no I don’t think a nightmare tier player would be able to pass that, not even with a lot of Overdrive, I mean damn when it manages to knock Sideshow down into the red it is some hard shit considering the guy is pretty damn good, and it lasts for nearly 3 minutes, and it happens close to the end of this 17 minute long beast. I think you are underestimating how hard that groove really is to keep up for that long

I’ve fced this custom and golded songs like Farewell, Mona Lisa, so I’d like to think I know what I’m talking about. But I’ll admit I’m probably under-tiering it due to it being so easy for me. If enough people think it deserves devils, I’ll make it last tier. I’ll go and compare charts of nightmare and devil tier Harmonix songs later to make sure.
Thanks for the input!
July 1, 2014 at 12:18 am #423735Yeah I am not saying it is anywhere near Farewell Mona Lisa or anything like that (HMX really should have kept the 9 tiers system lol), but I do think it matches a lot of RB2 on-disc devil tiers at the very least based on the part during the Bass “solo” and that part going on for so long so late out into the song.
Also no problem, hope to see this eventually becoming a full RBN-quality level full band custom too, that would have been a dream come true
