I reached the 256 song limit in Party Buffalo, and read the faq, but I’m a noob and I’m still not sure what I’m doing.

Hey all, what’s up? Recently, I reached the 256 limit in Party Buffalo, and the more I read the faq and previous threads about what I’m supposed to do about it, the more confused I get.
Somebody in a previous thread recommended Horizon, however, when I click the “download” in chrome, it says:
“This Website Ahead Contains Malware!
Google Chrome has blocked access to this website for now
Even if you have visited this website in the past, visiting it now is very likely to affect your computer with malware”
Google Chrome won’t let me continue on downloading the software regardless, it completely blocks me from downloading it.
Also, I’m not exactly sure what the directions in the faq are telling me to do. Am I injecting the new songs into Horizon, then importing them into Party Buffalo? How does this get around the loophole of not being able to get to 257? Maybe I’m over thinking it a little bit.
Seriously, any help is incredibly appreciated.
May 23, 2015 at 3:17 am #446123If your Xbox 360 has the newest update, you should:
- Back up the customs onto your computer
- Format your flash drive on your 360 (I don’t know if it’s necessary to do it on your 360 since it’s just formatting your flash drive to FAT32)
- And use the RBtoUSB feature on C3 Con Tools to put them back on there and any others you want to add to it since it doesn’t have a song limit
C3 Con Tools

June 1, 2015 at 12:20 am #446799Hey everyone, thanks for the helpful responses! I’m really sorry for not responding back to this thread earlier, as I’ve been dealing with things for college/other tasks this past week.
The one thing that I’m confused about is this:
Format your flash drive on your 360 (I don’t know if it’s necessary to do it on your 360 since it’s just formatting your flash drive to FAT32)
How exactly do I format my flash drive on my 360? I’m pretty illiterate when it comes to technology, so I honestly have no idea what this means, or how to do it. I’m sure I can figure the other two steps out on my own though. I thought this was done automatically the first time I stuck my flash drive into the 360, although I could be thinking of something else.
Once again, thanks for the responses, I really appreciate them.

Go to the settings section which is all the way to the right. Pick “System” then “Storage”. Scroll down to your flash drive which I think is called USB Storage Device. Then press the Y button for “Device Options” and select “Format”.
Remember everything on the flash drive will be erased so if you have customs on it make sure you back them up onto your computer first
June 9, 2015 at 8:42 pm #447579Hey wait, I just thought of a loophole! Rather than erasing your hard drive, backing up everything on the computer, and downloading the C3 tools, I think I have found another way.
If you have two flash drives, do you think the following would work?…
1.) Grab a separate flash drive from the one you normally use and format the new one to your Xbox 360
2.) Using this flash drive, upload a number of new custom songs to it with party buffalo
3.) Plug both the old and new flash drives into your Xbox 360
4.) Through the setting menu on the 360, move all of the content from the new flash drive to the old one
Do you think this alternative method would work? I’m going to try it later when I get the chance. Since you’re not adding new content though party buffalo I feel it would work, although I am definitely no expert on computers.
June 11, 2015 at 11:28 pm #447707For those who are curious, I have tested the method that I listed above and it does in fact work in fixing the problem with Party Buffalo.
Personally, I uploaded 18 songs to the new flashdrive and moved them one by one to the old flashdrive in the Xbox 360 settings menu. After loading Rock Band 3 to make sure the songs moved over without any issue, I took out my old flash drive and added 2 more songs to it through Party Buffalo to make sure it worked, and the 2 songs loaded into Rock Band 3 without any issues.
I haven’t seen this method mentioned in other threads regarding this issue, so I’m just posting this to confirm that it does in fact work
EDIT: I should probably mention that prior to doing this, copy a song from your normal flashdrive to your new one. This way, when adding songs to the new flash drive through Party Buffalo, you can inject the songs into the “saved game” folder like always.
I’ll give a step by step here:
1.) Plug your regular flashdrive and new flashdrive into your Xbox 360
2.) Format the new flashdrive to your Xbox 360
3.) Copy a song from your regular flash to your new one
4.) Add like 3 to whatever songs to your new flash through Party Buffalo like normal, enough that it will surpass the 256 limit on your regular flash
5.) Once again, plug your normal and regular flash drives into your Xbox 360
6.) Move the new songs to your regular flash through the Xbox 360 Settings>Memory menu
7.) Take out the new flash and load Rock Band 3
If you have two flash drives, it’s pretty easy. This way you don’t have to erase and back everything up.
July 10, 2015 at 9:47 pm #449970I’m going to try this this weekend (as soon as I get another flash drive) as I’ve just reached the 256 limit too but I’ve got a similarly noob question.
Does just formatting the new flashdrive and copying a song over via 360 settings menue give Party Buffalo the path it needs to be able to inject files onto it?
I mean, I’ll give it a go anyway but I’d rather not spend out £6 or whatever on a new USB stick if there’s an issue with it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
E: I couldn’t get it to work the way described above but that’s likely more down to me than anything. I’ve since used the RBtoUSB method and am now happily past the 256 limit!
