no, i mean with ANY instrument when picking a song that has keys on it, while DLC with no keys (NO PART message on keys/pro keys) can load without problems, picking any instruments.

Its weird, right? customs works, but dlc with keys stucks for some reason…

Yes, weird. Maybe reinstall all WADs you have previously installed?

Whoops, guess I should have mentioned I was talking about the emulator :sweatdrop:

Yes to all your questions. I have run out of ideas for what could be causing the problem.

Can you enable the log and tell me the last line it attempts to do? And also, what version of the emulator is it? And is it the NTSC version of the game? Should identify as SZBE69.

I wish to apologize about the last week post. Things aren’t gonna happen again, also I deleted everything and started to download the c3 customs. But I still have a question: Is the u8it packing size limit really 2GB like it’s written on the first post? I was trying to pack something like 700mb but the program crashes…

I’ve definitely packed larger than 700 MB, but in emulator where it doesn’t matter. If it’s crashing at 700, stop and try splitting it up. That won’t work for BIN files anyways.

      4.0-8865

Yeah it’s the NTSC version. It has that same game ID.

Here’s the full log of the game launching and not launching in case that helps narrow down the issue.

At least 1 cheat enabled (game doesn’t start up):

No cheats enabled (game starts up):

Can you open the Log Configuration and set Verbosity to Warning? Then post that.

Hmm, well that’s not saying much. Is that where it ended? Is the game freezing at the Strap Usage screen? Is it accidentally triggering a pause on itself? If it is getting stuck at the Strap Usage screen, I don’t know how to fix that. It’s a problem I’ve seen come up, but somehow usually goes away on its own. You could try removing Dolphin config files and starting fresh. Erase the SYSCONF, maybe.

          #464170

Yeah that’s where it ended. It doesn’t even get to the strap screen, it just stays a black screen.

Just tried deleting SYSCONF and trying again but it still didn’t work . Are there other config files that I should be trying to delete? Or is it just that one?

It doesn’t look like it’s crashed or anything, so try clicking the play button to make sure it’s not pausing.

If that’s still not doing it, maybe try deleting anything that’s not the emulated NAND inside the Dolphin Emulator folder in documents. That should make it as fresh a start as possible.

I didn’t want to lose save data so I backed everything up then one by one deleted a folder and tried starting up the game until it finally worked with the cheats and I figured out what was causing the problem.

I found out that something in Dolphin EmulatorWiititle0000001 was causing the problem. I don’t know which exact folder in there was the problem (it had 37 folders and I didn’t really feel like checking each one) but deleting that entire folder fixed the problem.

Alright so It’s been a while since I’ve looked at this thread and I need some reteaching on installing Wads. I used up all of my space in the sZFE Folder (up to 500) and I downloaded everything for the sZGE Generation. So, do I take the Wad that I have in that folder and go through WiiMod to install it then use that folder to set up my customs?? I’ve gotten so used to doing the sZFE ones that I don’t remember the beginning parts.

Yeah, it’s just installing the WADs. Then the game should recognize customs created for that generation. But, did you actually run out of room in sZFE? You packed everything as efficiently as you could?

That the thing, I need to go through and try to do the Smart Folder Packing in the tutorial since I think I understand it a bit more now than what I did before. I’ll probably be able to free up a good amount of space doing that.

A custom of mine is having a little problem in-game using Dolphin, it is sort of a freeze, in one specific part of the music the game stops, the music goes back some seconds and keep playing on until it comes to the exact time that the game has “freezed” and the game returns normally from that point. Have you ever heard of some error like that and how to fix it?

Heavy multitracks will cause problems in the game. Either merge tracks and recompile in Magma, or merge tracks and use RockBiink to build a less demanding file.

Thanks, I’ve tried recompile using even more tracks (in that case, an extra blank crowd track) an the song has stuttered with even more frequency than before. I’ll try turning the stereo kick stem into mono and I’ll test in-game, the ironic of this rule is that I have full stereo multitrack mogg from other customs (keys included, that track doesn’t have keys) and this didn’t happen hahahahaha

Hi. i had great success using .bin files in sd card but i cant make the .app work in emunand (btw im using wii).

I followed all the instructions mentioned in the 1st page.

when i compile using sZFE and sZGE all my custom songs are loading and playable using .bin on sdcard, but when i try using the .app files the original dlcs only are loaded even resetting the cache (yup i placed all the needed files like .app and tmd in folder 735a4645 for sZFE and folder 735a4745 for sZGE, install and reinstalled the .wad, copied renamed and replaced .tik but still no luck )

                        my folder structure:

                        emunandticket0010005 735a4645.tik and 735a4745.tik here

emunandtitle0010005735a4645content all .app made for sZFE are in this folder with the title.tmd

emunandtitle0010005735a4745content all .app made for sZGE are in this folder with the title.tmd

(yes all title.tmd for sZFE and sZGE came from the latest files that i can see in this thread)

as i am investigating as to why it wont load the custom dlc, i tried to swap title.tmd of the two to see what kind of result or error i may get. and the result is it wont load the dlcs. and when i tried to return the original title.tmd( before i replaced it) of sZFE, all original dlcs showed up but not the custom ones. then i replaced it again with the title.tmd (the one that came from the dlc packer) and again the originals only showed up (i always reset the cache before i made those experiments).

so therefore i conclude that my problem is in the title.tmd file.

as i tried to make a clean emunand using modmii, i stumbled upon the tmdedit.exe from the modmii and tried to use it.

i opened cmd and do the input of codes and i checked the title.tmd(the orig) using -r

and i noticed that the contentid, hash, file size of the .apps are in there, then i tried to check the file size and sha1 of the original dlc .apps and compared it from the info i got from the tmd and result is they have the exact data. and when i tried to open the modified title.tmd, the hash, file size from 34 to 499 are the same. so maybe if i can edit those data and input my .app data to the title.tmd, maybe it will show up.

so anyone here have the idea of editing title.tmd please teach me.
