Surprise! Here I am again!
…
Oh well.
So, I came across some customs that had no songs.dta. Will they work normally? If not (and I think that’s the case), can I make one, either via some tool or from scratch?
November 19, 2015 at 3:06 am #459496How did you erase them? Sounds like the ticket flags for those were cleared or something. Maybe reinstalling the WAD could help.
I think some loaders can let you use cheats while loading from a disc. It’s not through the plain ol Disc Channel though. Neogamma, I think?
How are you adding the cheats? Maybe something else is interfering with them (like the wrong game ID), because the cheats are cross region and should regardless of NTSC or PAL. Good to know sZGP works. That means you can use sZHP if you run out of room.
I’ve never seen that error but if I had to guess, it might be trying to save files wherever Bink was installed, which is the Program Files folder. Can you try copying the contents of the RADTools folder somewhere like your desktop, then running the script in there? It should run using the binkc.exe it finds in there. And of course, this is assuming the latest version of Bink you can download today, right? How did you erase them? Sounds like the ticket flags for those were cleared or something. I put them in the 735a4750 folder and everything’s works perfect. In my noob thinking, maybe the .tik in the dolphin packer just have to be renamed by the name of the generation you want to use. If I’m correct, I’ll try to use later the sZHP gen to be able to have more room, since dolphin can’t handle multiple slots..My goal is to have a lot of good customs along with my official dlc passing the limit 1000+, when (or if) I acomplish this I’ll post here to let you informed. About the cheats, unfortunately they don’t work in pal version. I try out older and newer versions of dolphin and the same error occurs . Let me explain the error:When you activate these cheats loading the pal version of the game, the engine of the emulator changes “automatically” from JIT recomp ( or JITL recomp) to interpreter( the damn slowest thing), making everything in the emulator go to hell..I have run to CTRL+ALT+DEL, task manager , and close everything related to dolphin and “IF” i’m lucky my pc becomes to act normal again. Generally I have to restart..
In the ntsc version everything seems to work OK.
November 19, 2015 at 5:22 am #459503So if I add these cheats I can have up to 3000 songs in my library? I have never used cheats, how do I add them?
Through your loader, find out how to load cheats. Downloading cheats won’t work because they’re not in any database. But it should be looking for a specific text file on your SD card. Also make sure you’re running the game with IOS 249.
Hi everyone,
I was thinking of subscribing in order to asking for help, but I finally made the custom songs work !
So I wanted to give my feedback, maybe to understand what went wrong or to help future players. Sorry, my english is not perfect but I think you’ll understand.
I was planning to use my RB3 PAL DVD and launch the customs from a SD card.
I read carefully the guide on the first page, did some trials and errors and installed the homebrew channel, the wads and created some bin files.
It went good until I got the mention “Additionnal content could not be written in the wii memory” on the title menu (written in French but I think that’s the translation).
I tried many many things to get the bins to work correctly, looked through these pages and everywhere for ideas, and finally found a strange way to make the songs appeared in the list !
If I start the game from the disc channel, I get the error.
If I start the wiiflow channel and click on launch the game from the disc, the songs are added without error.
It goes for both the sZFP and sZGP wads. I also need to restart the game for the USB, but it must be another problem.
I did not try much after that, too happy to get the customs available to play.
I wanted to thank all the contributors for the songs, Stack and the others for the Wii guide and the help in the forum. Merci à tous !
Have fun with Rock Band !
Like above, make sure you’re running the game through IOS 249. That should allow all instruments to connect and the SD card to get read.

What wouldn’t have a songs.dta? That wouldn’t work anywhere since it’s required for any custom.

Dolphin can handle multiple customs per “slot” in that sense. You really only need to build two, maybe four app files for most everything you need. But to get good performance, definitely use the faster CPU. Set it before the game launches or something, but definitely prevent it from getting it set to the slow one. Also, make sure cheats are enabled in the config options for the emulator.

…imports. :T
Nvm, I’ll try to find a way around it.

Thanks! I will try it. I have one last question. I’m looking to set up a virtual nand to play rock band and store the customs. Hoe did you guys do it or what is the best way for Rock Band. With a neek (UNEEK, UNUUK +Di, neek2o) or with a USB loader (USB loader gx, wiiflow)?
November 19, 2015 at 8:41 am #459510People uses different ways to load emunands and most seems to work. I use this emunand, which is less likely to stutter, or lag on larger songs, compared to real nand or USB loaders. Everything works flawlessly on this emunand, backups and whatnot, without the need of installing cIOSs. You do need a rather large USB drive though, with 2 partitions on it. All the details are within the docs, provided with the tools to make the nand.

Thanks! It looks good, I’m going to try it. But if understand it correctly, on the emunand you cant install homebrew and usbloaders, so you need to launch all your games through uniiloader right? And I can install the sZGP wad wich is needed for customs with showmiiwads? Also how do I run cheats then, with uniiloader?
November 19, 2015 at 4:36 pm #459522I haven’t got the packers provided here to work, but that could simply be a bad manipulation that I made, but yes essentially you will need to install any wads through showmiiwads (or the dlc tools), like any emunands. AFAIK any USB loader should work, since Uniiloader is essentially a USB loader, but as effective as Uniiloader inside an emunand, that I couldn’t tell. Yes, you load the cheats through Uniiloader, cheats, channels, wiiware, games, etc can be launched via Uniiloader. With this emunand you can also boot the games via disc channel, but I don’t think you can load cheats this way. You can install homebrew channel, and launch homebrews on emunand (some doesn’t work properly, though, like FTPii, but again, do you really need to FTP to your emunand?), but the need for it is slim, really, since you do not need to mess with system files, your emunand is essentially an updated ”official” 4.3 firmware. The packer I use is called wszst, and can pack up to 1.5-2gb worth of songs in a single pack, in the sZAE generation. For me it doesn’t matter much, since if I want the DLC the pack replaces I can just merge it in the pack.

Thanks, I’m just gonna try and install it and if I have any problems I”ll post them. I did not quite unterstand the part about the packer but I’ll figure it out. Do you know if every hdd works? If my hdd works with my usb loader, will it also work with the emunand for sure?
November 20, 2015 at 6:35 pm #459595Hard drive choices tend to be very safe.
November 21, 2015 at 3:54 am #459609I use a very old IDE drive with a cheap IDE/SATA to USB thing. I personally think most HDDs should work.
November 23, 2015 at 12:44 am #459697I hope I can get this all out without being too confusing. I am having quite the hard time with these instructions. My first test attempt I was able to get 1 song to work which was exciting so I got right to work putting on a bunch of customs. It just doesnt seem to work. Here are the steps I am doing
In the rbtool folder I make my first song 054_000036 and the other folder 055 etc (im doing this step right just not typing it out right here. I go in and change the songs to szFE or whatever and 054. Save it and leave. I go into the c tool (sorry forgot the name) and do the multi folder thing to add more songs. I put it in the meta file of the 054 song. The first time I did it the u8it.exe kept erroring out and it wouldnt work. So then I only tried a couple of songs.
I have the key thing and I make the txt file by pulling out a song in one of the sz folders and put txt file in rb3tools. Then run the rb3tool. Then it makes the thing and I press it. It makes the bins and I put them in szFE. I delete the store file with wiixplorer. Nothing. Songs do not load. Am I doing the mutli thing wrong? Am I missing a step? Why does u8it keep erroring? Im on windows 10 if that helps.
Thanks for any and all help. Sorry im hazy on some stuff but I dont have it in front of me and im on my ipad.
November 23, 2015 at 5:27 am #459702Did you install the required WAD file?
November 23, 2015 at 12:14 pm #459709Did you install the required WAD file?
Wich one is that? I didnt see that step on the instructions
November 23, 2015 at 1:46 pm #459711I don’t use those tools, but the WAD file should be provided. It will enable you to use the required slots. Once installed you should expect an error, -1022 I believe.
Taken from the OP: If you are using the optional custom generations, you will need to install the provided WAD file with a WAD installer. Install with all defaults, expecting an error.
