It would require maintaining an entirely separate release as all the PAL song DTAs are different. I or someone else would have to go through the unsavory task of manually downloading all the DLC from the servers, sorting the song DTAs, and applying the RBHP updates to them.

The manual way of doing this is to find your DLC and unpack it with this tool if it’s in BIN, or just extracting the .app file if it’s on the NAND. Then, find the song’s DTA file and manually copy in the updated parts like vocal_parts, song_id, and tonic note. Finally, repack your DLC and refresh your cache. If you have the patience, you could set up a spoof file like the instruction says, but it still seems like a lot of work.

Basically, no one has all the PAL song DTAs and I only have all the NTSC DLC because there’s a difference.

Im having an issue with just one song out of my 406 I currently have on my SD card. All other songs work fine, but this one will try and load at the menu, throw back an error stating it cant be loaded, and then when I go to play the game it will freeze.

Im not entirely sure which song it is, is there any way I can scan all the files on the SD card to find out which song is corrupt so I can remove it from the SD card?

Can you try removing the most recently added song files and add them one at a time? That should help narrow down which pack has it.

        #455104

Yeah I went back and removed the last 20 or so songs, it still wasnt one of them.

The thing is it was working fine previously, I added about 50-60 songs at once, they all loaded except for one, but RockBand still loaded fine and didnt freeze, so I didnt think to go back and remove the troublesome track. But now recently it started freezing whenever I try and load the game, so I have no way of remembering which track it was.

Im guessing my only option is to go through each track one by one until I find it?

If even without any DLC it’s still happening, it could be an issue that’s already been cached. In that case, you’d have to erase your cache, then slowly add songs until it starts happening again.

New round of songs freezing my Wii, and one of them was delisted from the database <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> :

Dare to Be Stupid – Weird Al

            The Reflex – Duran Duran <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> :( <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> :(

Turn it On Again – Genesis

Wait for Sleep – Dream Theater

White and Nerdy – Weird Al

I don’t know how Reflex will get fixed. :sweatdrop:

Just tried these and they all worked for me. Well, I actually got a freeze after adding “Dare to Be Stupid” and trying a song after it. If you’re getting a freeze at the main menu, it’s a DTA problem. Otherwise, they load up and play fine.

            #455519

So I converted a CON file to Wii for the first time using C3 CON Tools. Either I was incredibly lucky or maybe it is just that easy to make Nightmare Lyra’s “Gimme Chocolate!!” by Babymetal playable on Wii. Even the venue and actors and all that visual ported over just fine. I don’t expect all CONs to port over so painlessly, but this positive experience is very reassuring.

Still have yet to try Magma, in case i want to learn how to fix content myself. Any luck with those files I had issues with, Stack? You’re a gracious fellow to help me as much as you have. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_happy.png” />

Oh wow, I was still typing this. What should I look for in the DTA? Because all of the individual freezes were at the main menu. Would a cache reset be the answer? Also, here’s what my copy of Dare to Be Stupid looks like. Anything look out of place or noticeable?:

The Wii Converter should do a good job almost all of the time.

As for the broken content, if it is freezing at the main menu, then it’s reading a bad DTA. Narrow it down to the one file that has the bad DTA. If it freezes, it doesn’t get saved to the cache, so there’s no need to reset it.

That DTA looks fine, so look more closely at the DTA that is certainly causing a freeze at the main menu. Magma should only be necessary if you need to downmix a multitrack of 9+ tracks. RockBiink can also do this to just the audio without recompiling.

              #455567

Will any audio quality suffer using Biink, or is it hardly noticeable?

You also mentioned that Wii Converter does a good job almost all the time. Does it struggle on certain songs?

When I tried them all one by one, the main menu was the freeze point for all of them. The only thing I updated for each was renaming the sZAE to sZFE, and the relevant bin/app numbers. I do edit the song ID# for leaderboard play, but that has been confirmed to not have any bearing on my issue, as some dodgy songs for me in the past (like when I had trouble with Stairway) had not had their IDs altered.

Here’s the DTA for the rest:

Keep in mind, that if you had the songs cached as a previous gen, then just editing and reloading the same files isn’t going to get them to work. For that, you would need a cache refresh.

                #455570

I always made sure to edit to sZFE before any compilation took place, as per your instructions on page 1.

Not sure if a problem could be dead slots. I’ve had a few slots not work with any song.

I can’t confirm that a thing like “dead slots” are real, but sometimes a few songs haven’t behaved despite appearing correct. Sometimes, and this has only happened once, there are hidden system files somewhere. Then they get packed and mess things up. It can happen.

What would you suggest in this case, installing the songs in brand new slots?

Yeah, it seems you’ll have to try that for now. If it really comes down to it, try single songs at a time until the hurdle is passed.
