Sorry if I’m beating an old drum since its been a while since I’ve logged on but I’m still having trouble resting my cache. I keep going through the fstoolbox and dumping the mstore.vff there but there are still customs up where there are no bin files for them. Should I just take the sd into my computer, delete the mstore.vff and replace it with a brand new empty one? I tried through the ftp server but I’m still not having luck with any of that
August 24, 2015 at 5:29 pm #453481Grab WiiXplorer r259.
Then follow Stack’s instructions here:
Run it off your SD card with the Homebrew Channel.Click on the Start button (lol I know) and go to Settings > Boot Settings.
Enable the second NAND option. Click OK on the dialogs that appear. You have to do this every time.
Exit the Settings menu.
Start the FTP. It’s in the Start Menu.
Download and install FileZilla.
Connect using the provided IP and port if it provides one.
You should now be able to access your SD card and NAND from your computer.
Go to title/00010000/535a4245/data and delete the MSTORE.VFF file. If you are having trouble navigating to a folder, it could just be a hiccup from the program. It’s not perfect and it’s a dead project, so this looks like an unavoidable issue. But, the result is still very convenient.
I find this much safer to use and much easier to navigate. Also, you get to avoid FSToolBox’s possibility of bricking/doing something irreparable to the Wii.
Edit: Wait, you said that you didn’t have luck with FTP? What happens in that respect?

It doesn’t give me the option to enable the second NAND. Ever since I started using it to try to reset it’s never given it to me.
August 24, 2015 at 9:51 pm #453505The latest version of WiiXplorer, r259, should be able to show the second NAND. I had the same issue as you when I used any other version of that app.
Which version do you have? I’ll be stumped if you have the same one.
August 24, 2015 at 10:59 pm #453511Not sure which one I have. It’s been over a month since I’ve even touched my Wii.
August 25, 2015 at 12:58 am #453518Regarding Lego Rock Band, I wrote a tool to simplify the vague process I described.Unzip the archive and you should have the executable and a RBHP folder. Click Load to find the “songs” folder from an unpacked Lego Rock Band disc. You will need to have used Arktool on the ISO before hand. You know, the one you dumped from your disc with your Wii. The Arktool command would be this: arktool -e gen * extracted
But anyways, after you’ve selected the songs folder, the list should populate. You can right-click and extract a song to automatically convert it to the standard Wii customs DLC format (where you get a meta and song folder) along with the added bonus of automatically having the RBHP harmony upgrade applied. Just make sure to update the path in the songs DTA and upgrades DTA.
For Keys upgrades, download the latest RBHP release and replace the provided files with the Keys version.
This only works for Lego Rock Band. Rock Band 1 shouldn’t work because the audio is not right and won’t even upgrade with RBHP. If there are any issues, please let me know. I’m getting a bit better at this.
That’s great, except ArkTool Gui v7.0 by xorloser 2008 doesn’t work on my Lego iso. It says problem opening ARK file.
Works fine with RB1 (extracting the ARK files that is).
I’m not too good with command line stuff…
August 25, 2015 at 1:53 am #453523So, did nobody give a shit about this post two weeks ago?
Guys, please remember that this project is about customs, not about ripping original content or making it work. If you can’t make a custom song work, do post here; if you’re working on original content, please don’t, we have no interest in actively helping anybody work on original content. We know the information is the same, so just take it and try it on your own or discuss it privately.” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” />
August 25, 2015 at 3:01 am #453527Also, Korn’s “Y’all Want a Single” has nothing on the download page for the Wii link.
And “Love on the Rocks” by Neil Diamond is still in CON format.
And this is the only thing on Rod Stewart’s “Baby Jane” link:
And “Moonrise Pt.2: Nightfall (2x Bass Pedal)” by The L-Train is also blank on its Wii link.
These are now fixed. They were uploaded before, so I I must have made a mistake with the link at some point.
August 25, 2015 at 6:59 pm #453569The latest version of WiiXplorer, r259, should be able to show the second NAND. I had the same issue as you when I used any other version of that app.Which version do you have? I’ll be stumped if you have the same one.
I have r249 of WiiXplorer. I’m not getting any update dialog when I go through my apps. I’ll keep searching for it.
*EDIT* Alright, I found a r259 download online so I grabbed it and replaced the files inside my WiiXplorer on my SD. I opened it up in Homebrew Browser and it gave me an available update so I took it but it still says r249 in the browser. Now when I pick it on the Homebrew Channel, it says it’s version r210. So I’m not really sure which of the versions I have and I still only have IOS Boot option and no NAND option
August 25, 2015 at 11:03 pm #453591When you downloaded the r259 version, there was no need to use the Homebrew Browser app, since you loaded r259 onto the SD card manually. You should have been able to run r259 on the Homebrew Channel without any further steps needed.
Sometimes the Homebrew Browser is behind on listing current versions.

It shouldn’t open as a channel should it? Since it is an app within Homebrew. I still didn’t have the second NAND through the last few times I’ve tried after this new version.
August 26, 2015 at 12:58 am #453607We’re thinking too far back in the System Menu here.
Here’s what I mean. Upon manually downloading r259 and loading it onto your SD card at your PC, take the SD card to the Wii and launch the Homebrew Channel. Once in the Homebrew Channel, just launch the r259 app. If you launched the Homebrew Browser app in the Homebrew Channel, you went too far.
Also, you told me that you replaced r259 with another version after running the Homebrew Browser app within Homebrew Channel:
I opened it up in Homebrew Browser and it gave me an available update so I took it but it still says r249 in the browser. Now when I pick it on the Homebrew Channel, it says it’s version r210.Ergo, that’s why second NAND isn’t showing up; you replaced the r259 app entirely with a different version, r249/r210. You’ll have to get rid of r249/r210 and start over with a fresh r259.
August 26, 2015 at 1:59 am #453613You might want to hold on to the latest version from Google Code since it’s shutting down for good soon. I don’t think that version of WiiXplorer was ever a published version, so if the program tries to update, it might end up downgrading. Just stay on task and get to the FTP. I’ve been able to connect via FTP immediately after running the application, so that should save one step along the way.
August 26, 2015 at 2:15 pm #453637Also, if anyone needs my copy of r259 once that happens, PM me. I’ll gladly provide somehow.
Stack, I’m curious about something. Metallica’s tracks “Hit the Lights” and “That Was Just Your Life” don’t have any Wii links whatsoever, with the same going for Muse’s “Starlight”. My apologies if anyone asked before, but I was curious as to what the story was there.
August 27, 2015 at 4:11 am #453684Those songs have issues that can’t easily be resolved.
“Hit the Lights” – BPM is consistently well over 300. I could just Bink this one and be done with it, but the chart probably isn’t great.
“That Was Just Your Life” – Song is missing vocal chart.
“Starlight” – Audio is unusable.
