Hi Stack – thanks mate, grabbing now and will let you know.

PS – I tested the others this week apart from the Lady Gaga tune, and they worked fine.

After much trying, I can’t seem to get anything working at all. No error codes or anything, the game just boots up, asks if I want SD card mode, and goes to the menu. I put the nlfr folders and one more custom song on my SD card. I’m trying this on my Wii U, loading from the actual disc. Do I need to be using a USB loader?

Yeah. I think I only know of one person who’s gotten it working on Wii U. It’s not going to work on the disc with no homebrew at all. You need to install the appropriate WADs, Wii U versions where necessary. And then boot the disc through a USB loader in IOS 249.

Yeah, like Stack said, i play customs on both wii u and wii consoles, however, i don’t think u need to softmod vWii if u have the original disc, well, except for the cache reset and the content generations wads, i say it because u only need ios 249 if u want to load the game on an usb device AND connect the dongles in the second port (3 and 4 usb ports on the wii u wont work), and ios 56 base so SDHC cards can be loaded in the game

Warning!: u MUST install the d2x installer for “Wii u “, not for the normal wii, i once did that and i almost brick my vWii since i installed the wii version of ios 58, later i managed to reinstall the original vWii ios 58 <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Thanks guys. I do have homebrew installed, I just wanted to use the disc so I could use all the USB ports. I’ll try loading the game from my USB loader later today. What WADs exactly do I need to install? I know I tried installing some DLC WADs over the summer, but they ended up breaking my access to the RB3 store.

A USB loader should just let you boot the disc with the right IOS without having a drive plugged in. I think that’s how it’s supposed to work. DLC wads should be the same. So like my sZGE one should also work.

Where can I get the sZGE wad?

Okay, fixed that one now too. If you previously loaded this one, you might need to reset your cache for the new DTA tracks data.

Hello again, i have a little problem, it’s not related to customs

I’m downloading DLC from the rock band store, but when i want to listen to the preview of the songs, they sound very low, why is that?

You get a preview at all? I thought they took down the previews months ago. It’s probably a glitch with the game since the same happens on the main song list from time to time.

No, i mean, yes, the preview of the songs in the store isn’t there anymore, but when i want to play a dlc song, i wait for the preview to start, and then it sounds very low, the preview of the disc game (default) sounds normal.

Well, I think I’m closer now, but I still can’t get these to work. I uninstalled all the WADs that I had installed before, then installed sZFE and sZGE using IOS249. If I set the customs to use sZFE, I get the error “can not restore to system memory”, and if I set them to use sZGE and put them in a sZGE folder, I get “songs are corrupted”. Now I really don’t know what to do.

For customs, it could be rather aggressive attenuation at generating time. Not much can be done about that except I can inspect a few to see if they’re turning out okay. But then also, it is a known glitch that previews sound too quiet at times.

The system memory error makes it seem like it could be the ng_id or common key that’s wrong. Songs corrupted error is probably because you’re using an invalid content index. Did you use the latest TMD? Did you start form 003?

I also had similar issues, what should the file size of the ng_id text file be?

lol, it’s says 9 bytes, but i guess it doesn’t matter, the important thing is that you have to write your correct wii console id in that file

I’m getting 8 bytes. Either way, you can use a downloaded DLC BIN file to get yours or use the file from your NAND backup. You can even use FTPii to get the same file that your NAND backup should have given you.
