Dear stack and the rest,
it is clear from all the things up to now, that the process of customs on my system do not work, because the sd card (normal one not sdhc) is not recognized by RB3.
I tried to search the net about it and it seems that my system is not up to date for such a support.
I tried to do this process here:
http://gwht.wikidot.com/ios249
by downloading the wads and choosing in the end the 248 slot in my wii,
yet to no avail, since I was getting DSI stack dump code dump errors at the end of the installation.
I think that this did not brick my wii since the installation is taking place in a new slot, and even if failed, it did not affect anything else.
I wanted to install 249 in a 248 slot with base 56 (if I understood correctly what was mentioned there).
Most of the installations require homebrew >= 1.0.7, yet mine is 1.0.6
Also most of the installations require 236 in order to proceed. All in all a lot of work.
For those people that will have the time and patience to move a step forward I came across these posts:
http://www.wiihacks.com/general-homebre … r-dlc.html
and
http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/reg … -3.745010/
which seem that they are discussing a problem similar to mine.
So, the wii should have enabled the SD card access in order to be able to “see” the contents of the custom songs, while these are running.
Stack thank you for your support, yet I won’t continue experimenting with the installations and wads.
If -in the future- time and patience allows it, I will let you know.
Thank you very much for all your responses, links, files e.t.c..
September 19, 2014 at 3:09 am #429458i can’t download the “rb3 wii dlc packer”
could someone please re upload the link
September 19, 2014 at 2:46 pm #429482The site has become very unreliable lately. Why do the simple sites always die? I will reupload everything to keepitfishy later today.

What am i doing wrong?
September 20, 2014 at 3:37 am #429553It could be a number of things. First, did you use the RB3WiiPackTool I left in there? That takes care of a couple of things more prone to error.
September 20, 2014 at 4:26 am #429554yes this is the folder
September 20, 2014 at 4:39 am #429555sorry i didnt seen the new link
September 20, 2014 at 5:17 am #429557I updated it very recently. It’s 2.1 of the tools right now. It should be making the batch for you so the BIN files actually generate. Right now, I can see that they’re not being made for the second song.
September 20, 2014 at 2:51 pm #429580Hello to StackOverflow and everyone else. Stack, I’m back with a new “issue” ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> I figured this would be the most relevant forum to post and get the best help since it is RB3 related.
I recently updated from the Wii to the WiiU (my kids and wife wanted all the new Mario games). I have softmodded the vWii mode within the WiiU. All games are running great off of the HDD using USB loader GX except RB3.
I installed all the sXXX wads but, I remember when I was trying to get RB3 and all the DLCs to work, I had to patch some IOSes and wii shop channel. For the life of me, I can’t remember what I patched and I did not bookmark the pages that helped me do it (even though I thought I did). I think the wii shop issue has taken care of itself because I can go to the RB3 music store and download “purchased” songs without getting that 204036 error.
The error I am getting is “add-on content cannot be restored to Wii system memory”. I used to get this error also when I was trying to get custom RB3 songs to work on the Wii but, like I said, I can’t remember what I patched.
Would you happen to know the solution?
September 20, 2014 at 4:28 pm #429584I don’t know much at all about how the process works on the Wii U, but it should be similar.
http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-u-guides-tu … wii-u.html
That guide, especially Part 4, is probably what you want at this point.
September 20, 2014 at 5:17 pm #429587Yes, I have already done everything in that guide and everything works just fine except RB3. The issue I am having with the vWii mode is the same issue I have with the original Wii. I had to patch some IOS to get the custom songs to work but, I don’t know what I did and searching on “my friend” Google has not produced any results.
I figured since this forum has readers with modded Wiis and a working RB3 game on it, that perhaps you/someone could recall what you had to do get the customs working.
So, is all you did was follow the Wii 4.3 guide and your were good to go? I know I wasn’t. I had to patch something else.
???
September 20, 2014 at 6:16 pm #429594Well yes, and Part 4 specifically explains which IOS patches to install and this is what you are looking for.
Congrats! You have now installed all cIOS needed! So if even after that it isn’t working, then it narrows down the potential problem.
September 20, 2014 at 7:17 pm #429607Well, like I said previously, I did everything that guide explains for the vWii mode.
I was hoping for information on how it was done for the original Wii since I remember that I had to install some extra wads/different wad version or patch another IOS to get it up and running. I figured I could take those same steps on the vWii mode.
I’ve modded the original Wii on 4.3 menu using Mauifrogs guide and everything went great except for, once again, RB3. I had to do additional things which unfortunately, I can’t remember and can’t find through google. I usually bookmark everything but, for some reason, I do not have any of these guides that helped me the first time around.
Any suggestions?
(EDIT): I found that, currently, cIOS 223 with base 37-38 (which the Rock band games need) is unavailable for the vWII mode of the WiiU. Now I remember this was the cIOS patch I did on the original wii to get RB3 to work with the customs.
September 20, 2014 at 9:43 pm #429624Whenever I would try to play a custom song, (In this case, Cliffs of Dover) I could see it in the song select screen, but the preview does not start. Whenever I would try to play it, it would come up an error saying “Cliffs of Dover cannot be restored to the Wii System Memory”. I have installed sZFP.wad, and the sample song (Fluttering Romance) works fine. I am also running the PAL version of the game on a PAL Wii.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
(EDIT) I managed to fix this.
But new problem, when I have more than three songs, which means the .bin files go from 052-057.bin. When I try to add a new song, the packdlc.bat stops creating the .bin files, so they do not show up in the song select screen. >” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />
