Oh, the 512 kb limit is for the entire folder? Makes more sense

Hey stack. I was wondering why I get this error. I am putting 1 song in 1 slot and for whatever reason, I not only get the actual bin files but 5 more bin files. My batch file looks fine.

    Any ideas?

If it’s anything like the problem I was having before, it’s because you still have old .app files. After you make bin files, you need to delete the .app files that came with it if you plan to eventually edit or add on to any slots that you already made. I find that it rereads old .app files when running the packer command. So I would just check and be careful with that, in case it is the same problem you’re having.

    That’s just my two cents.

I always leave the old app files there and never have had a problem. I’ve even made new slots with no problems. I think as long as the batch file is correct, it’ll just overwrite the old app file. I don’t see why it would reread it. I’ll try it though.

StackOverFlow!!! Where are you????? You’re the expert!!! Help!!! Ok enough of that now. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Improvements are coming. Let me know of other tedious things or annoyances so I can try to find a way to simplify that. New things coming soon.

Stack, any ideas of what could be causing my issue?

It should be solved very soon.

    Update: Read this!

I, with a lot of help, wrote a small program which should significantly improve the Wii packing procedure.

    Download the RB3WiiPackTool now!

Right now it can do 2 things: check for accidental default paths (sZAE/000), and automatically generate the packdlc.bat file. You now don’t have to manually edit the batch file yourself. More features to come when the new guide is out.

Back in town and saw your reply. Will try your new program. Strange that this issue only happens on this one song. I dont get it.

    Oh well.

Good to see you’re getting your hands dirty. Though I have to say I’m a little sad this is the first time I hear of this.

I noticed the new releases for the WII are not RAR files. Is this an error or is there a different way of doing it now?

They are CON files. Forgive my cluelessness.

To be honest, I didn’t really know exactly what I wanted at the time. Understanding demands and issues more, I may be able to manage the problems myself. That’s just how things turned out.

That must be a mistake I’ll have to fix. It is now fixed.

I haven’t tried the new packing tool so I am still using the manual way of packing. Maybe you can help me figure this out:

These are the songs I am trying to pack:

    BitterSweetSymphony

    cij_LoveSongKeys

    far_whocanitbenow

    096_00000060_Slot22_meta <

    This is the meta folder

    097_00000061_Slot22_song <

    This is the song folder

I changed the path to sZFE in the song DTA file and used Lefluffie to merge the other 2 songs.

The following is what my packdlc.bat file looks like:

    u8it 096_00000060_Slot22_meta 00000060.app -pack

    u8it 097_00000061_Slot22_song 00000061.app -pack

    wadpacker 096 203

The following is a snapshot of my packing folder: http://imgur.com/pjkN9ry

The app files are created but not the BIN files. What am I doing wrong?

You’re skipping bin slots after the default one. The tool would fix this. Add another wadpacker line starting at the break.

I’m afraid I don’t quite follow what you explained.

How am I skipping bin slots? I am guessing you are referring to the folder names I have in my packer folder?

I have done all my slots in order, they’re just not in the packer folder anymore. The “slot18” folder was the song I asked help for recently where you said a solution was coming soon. Not sure what that meant. I made bins for those but, it doesn’t work in the WII RB3.

The “slot22” folder is the most recent one I am trying to work on. I have all the bins in the WII sd card in order, 1 thru 95.

I have done all songs this way and the song “can’t fight this feeling anymore” (slot 18) is the only one that is giving me trouble in RB3 and now slot 22, which I can’t produce bins for.

Yeah, the other folders and missing commands seemed like an obvious mistake at first. I’m not sure why it’s not working at that point. You have the latest TMD?

Maybe wadpacker doesn’t like the 0 in 096?
