Depends how much has changed. If anything in the DTA is different, like like a new playable part, you’ll have to reset the cache for that. If it’s only a minor upgrade, like just changes to the midi for existing parts, or to the audio, you don’t need to reset. Those files are always loaded whenever you pick the song.
Thank you for your explanation, Mr. Stacks!
April 22, 2016 at 7:19 pm #467453Thanks to all, I finally could put my own customs in the emulator, a friend helped me
April 23, 2016 at 12:11 am #467463Created an account because I have no idea whats going on with my customs..
Heres as much information I can give:
My wii is soft modded
I have a physical copy of rock band 3
Tons of SD cards
Now the problem I keep running into is whenever I go into the settings in rock band 3 and try to load the SD card it keeps giving me a “Unknown Error Has Occurred” I’ve tried every type of SD card 2gb, 4gb and even a 16gb… Another problem I keep having is that I do not have any DLC to finish the custom ports from this tutorial, will this be a problem? If I try to buy DLC it will prompt me to update the Wii shop and from what I read on soft mods it’s never safe to update if you have modded your system.
I do apologize in advanced if this doesn’t seem to make any sense, I’ve been out of the modding scene for years now. So this is all fresh to me.
I can post more information if need be.
April 23, 2016 at 5:02 am #467476I don’t remember if you needed to have visited the shop at least once to set things off. Usually everyone has, and I believe the last system update has long since been safe to softmod from. So I’m also not sure if you can or even need to update.
Since you have the physical disc of the game, you’ll need a USB loader to boot the game with. You need to go through IOS 249 for the custom DLC to be read. You also have to install the WADs mentioned in the first post.

Managed to get a song off the store and get the ng_id and more that i needed to do customs. I also got a loader to load the disc in IOS 249, only problem I keep running into now is that Rock Band 3 keeps saying that no SD card is in the Slot, Ive tried everything including an empty SD card and get the same results. Any idea what could be causing this?
Edit: I also installed all the WAD’s from the first post.
April 25, 2016 at 4:39 am #467580Run sysCheck and post the log. The problem must be there.
April 27, 2016 at 5:36 pm #467757I am also experiencing an SD Card issue. I have been using this Wii and SD Card together for a few years with no issue. Last night I loaded some more songs from the database here. Put the card back in the Wii and when loading the game it did the usual “do you want to save content to the SD Card?” dialogue. I said yes and it said it had to backup content from the system memory to the card. It popped up the screen where the bar normally goes across as it saves stuff off, except that now I get an error every time and it disables SD Card mode. I tried removing the new files that were added and even tried running a CHKDSK on the card. I still get the error! Any ideas? I don’t have another 32GB card to try, but I would think if there were a problem with the card, the CHKDSK would have found something?
April 27, 2016 at 5:50 pm #467758Forgot to mention that the first thing I tried was to delete the mvstore cache file on the Wii.
Also, I tried a 2GB card that I put some songs onto and the same thing happened. The files that the Wii is trying to copy off must be corrupt? That is all I can figure. Is there a way to clear out whatever the Wii thinks it needs to backup to the SD Card?
April 28, 2016 at 1:15 am #467774Some kind of content data may have ended up on the system NAND. You’ll have to go into the data management settings on the console and make sure there isn’t any DLC data there.

May 9, 2016 at 3:50 pm #468365Hi, I’m back with a new little problem:
As far as I know you said that all custom generations stop at 500, but in sZGP, I already have a problem at 137: the packer just stops making .bin files there, it does create .app files though. What could be the problem? Thanks for your help!
EDIT: Well, I just found my mistake myself. This problem disappeared sooner than I thought! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
May 9, 2016 at 7:23 pm #468371Hello Everyone, after so many attemps to try to play customs on emunand without giving me some problems, i gave up and ended buying a 64gb sd card…
the thing is im tunning out of customs generations (sZFE, sZGE, sZHE already full of customs), is there a sZIE custom content generation out there?
May 10, 2016 at 6:55 pm #468425How do you run out? Are you packing any customs together at all?
May 11, 2016 at 1:19 am #468450nope, i pack 1 song per custom slot since u cant merge songs in sd card without losing the preview audio
May 11, 2016 at 3:45 am #468455You can though. At least 2 in that case. And certainly you must be willing to make some sacrifices for this because you’re at the limit. No other content generations can be made.
