Hey all, this is a repost from reddit. I figured I could get some feedback here. Please let me know if this is possible.
My goal for years has been to play double bass songs on rock band with an electronic kit, which I thought was simple but apparently not. So it’s taken me weeks of reading up on this but so far this is my understanding:
-there used to be x2 bass pedal songs, but not anymore
-to play pro drums (electronic drum set) on Xbox you need a pdp wired adapter, which was only made for a month some time back, and are now going for over $1000 on ebay
-setting up pro drums on PS4/PS3 is much easier/cheaper, but had a problem with not registering notes. However, this has recently been fixed with the roll limitless (person who made it is very helpful, always on this sub, tyvm)
-custom songs are a thing, but for previous gens, and mostly for Xbox 360. This rules out rock band 4.
So I think I’ve found a way to achieve my dream of playing rock band on an ekit with proper charting for drums (double bass pedal) without breaking the bank:
Step 1. Get a PS4, rock band 3, and a roll limitless.
Step 2. Mod ps4 with the guide on c3
Step 3. Download customs. Seeing as most of the customs are made for the Xbox version, they must be converted. But I read that a user on this sub made a tool for this so it should be available.
Step 4. I assume this is where you’d upload them somehow onto the PS4 but I’m not that far yet.
Step 5. Enjoy rock band drum charts with actual charts (at least for most metal).
If I am wrong about any (or all) of this please correct me. If there is an easier way please tell me as well. I love this game, and credit it for actually learning enough to have been able to drum for reals in several different bands. I’d love to be able to play it again, especially with more accurate charts for the vast majority of metal.
