Yeah, so this is the Christmas thread now, cool. The pack is due December 20th, and as the list currently stands:
-Wham! – Last Christmas (farottone)
-Paul McCartney – Wonderful Christmastime (drummerockband – vocals by Nyxyxylyth)
-Cowboy Timmy – Mr. Hankey, The Christmas Poo (drummerockband)
-Elmo and Patsy – Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer (NightmareLyre)
July 21, 2013 at 5:01 pm #403341A Xmas pack I think will be done, although personally I don’t think it should be about Xmas (except that I’m gonna author the shit out of Wham’s Last Christmas). I think it should be about great songs to play with friends, not necessarily about songs with Xmas in the name.
Halloween woulod be cool too, the horror theme could be well suited to a pack.
July 21, 2013 at 6:10 pm #403351You can’t have a Halloween pack without Thriller. Just sayin’.
For the Christmas pack, god, there are so many to choose from. My personal choices would be either Fairytale of New York by The Pogues, Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade, or I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day by Wizzard. Every other Christmas song I can think of is big-band/swing and so I don’t think would translate well to Rock Band.
Definitely happy to contribute to a Christmas pack.
July 21, 2013 at 11:05 pm #403360If we end up doing a Xmas pack, somebody needs to do Savatage – Christmas Eve (Sarajevo)
Well known song, great cover that would work very well with the RB3 setup with the keys and guitar playing off each other, and it being bloody awesome
Also for Halloween tracks, I also think covers of the Nightmare Before Christmas OST soundtrack would have been awesome, especially This Is Halloween by Marilyn Manson. Though among the well known party stuff there needs to be at least one Death Metal or Black Metal song with disturbing lyrics ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />

THIS.
October 4, 2013 at 7:08 pm #407365I’ve always wanted some Trans Siberian Orchestra to show up in RB. I understand why HMX never did it due to TSO not having much in the way of vocals.
October 4, 2013 at 7:30 pm #407370Whoah, when did I make a thread on this?
October 5, 2013 at 8:47 pm #407437I split this one out of the other holiday thread so we’d have separate threads without losing any posts.
October 7, 2013 at 3:56 pm #407525OK so I’m definitely going to do a 3-pack of Trans Siberian Orchestra for Christmas this year. At this point I’m thinking the pack will be:
Christmas Eve/Sarajevo
Wizards in Winter
Christmas Canon Rock
There are plenty of more great TSO Christmas songs so feel free to add to this.
TSO has a great keys player and all of these songs would be great on keys. That being said – would someone be willing to do them for this pack? I’m willing to do everything else.
October 9, 2013 at 5:23 pm #407618I’ve updated the OP with what I want to do for this pack.
October 9, 2013 at 6:17 pm #407623Do you think making some winter related or themed songs would be a good idea rather than just making standard holiday Christmas songs so it’d be more likely to be played outside of the holiday season? This kind of stuff always seemed limited to me.
October 9, 2013 at 7:30 pm #407626Do you think making some winter related or themed songs would be a good idea rather than just making standard holiday Christmas songs so it’d be more likely to be played outside of the holiday season? This kind of stuff always seemed limited to me.Why not both? And yes, while holiday-themed releases are for all intents and purposes meant for a limited time, I think there’s enough people in the RB fanbase who like to see holiday-themed releases. Don’t believe me? Look on any DLC guessing thread around any holiday on the official RB forums and see almost everyone discuss songs that would fit that holiday.
October 9, 2013 at 7:41 pm #407628No that’s what I’m saying: A mix of both types rather than just holiday songs.
October 9, 2013 at 7:50 pm #407629Clearly we need rock remixes of the snow/ice/winter levels from video games.
