Howdy folks. I’m new to the whole Rock Band 3 Customs stuff, and I’ve been struggling with getting these songs onto my Xbox 360 console. My console is not J’Tag, and I’ve been able to get some songs onto my console already, and by looking at those files, I know that they need to be in a .con format to get onto my console.

Here’s a link to the songs I have downloaded that I’m having trouble with:

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/str422bnj406u80/AACTr1xmTngwiiecQKmwh6OOa?dl=0

If anybody has some insight on what I need to do to get these working, I would be delighted to figure out a solution.

You didnt really specify what issues come up with trying to put them on your xbox.

Have you tried C3ConTools song analyzer?

There is no .con format. Don’t put any extensions on the files. The files are CON formatted, but they have no extension. So they’re like “songname” not “songname.con” – some files are songname_rb3con but that’s not an extension, just to remind you it’s a RB3 CON file.

And yeah like Sweatr said – you have to specify what trouble you are having.

When I try to put them onto my Xbox, they don’t appear in the storage, and therefore, can’t be transfered to my Xbox.

I just put a song through the Song Analyzer tool. (If you follow my Dropbox, I used Selkies.) Is there something I should be looking for when songs are under analysis to tell if they will or won’t work?

Yes, I should have specified. My bad.

When I try to put then onto my Xbox, they just don’t appear in the Storage, so I can’t transfer them.

The ones that have the “.con” following the name were just put down like that. I never messed around with any of the file names, at least from what I can remember. If they do have the “.con” at the end of the file name, can that mess around with the process of me putting them onto my Xbox?

Are you following the process described here? http://customscreators.com/index.php?/topic/13171-how-to-playing-customs-on-360/

This works pretty much without fail.

I think I may have missed a step in this tutorial. Ive just been dragging and dropping stuff into my thumb drive, instead of using RBToUSB. I will re-trace my steps, and make sure my method is the exact same as this, and send an update in a day or two.

Also make sure that you have the TU4 installed for RB3. CON files on a USB stick will not load if you’re on the latest update (TU5). This is obviously noted in the tutorial but eh, just making sure you see that information.

I had TU4 in my system already. I’ve been able to get customs onto my Xbox already. It’s just the fact that a few songs didn’t co-ordinate with me, and I wasn’t too sure if it had to do with specific file details, or anything like that.

YES! Everything is now working for me. Drag-and-drop days are over, and now I’m on my way wiht my Rock Band customs! Thanks for the help everybody! I will delete this post in a day, just so people can see I’ve had success. (Or maybe a mod can do it. I don’t know. We’ll get there one way or another.)
