Hi, im Josh.

Im trying to delete individual songs an repackage the “bonus rock band 2 tracks” i already did it with other packs with no problem what so ever, but this one is special, it always get stuck at “adding files for song X” i already edited the .dta file and deleted the song folders, I’ve already tried deleting less song with the same output, and vice-verse, its driving me nuts, can anyone please help me with this, im not pro on the matter, not even close, but i can follow instructions

It’s difficult to troubleshoot this. I’ve had others mention a problem with that pack but haven’t found the cause.

Something that should work is get the original pack, extract the songs.dta, remove the entries for the songs you’re trying to delete and replace the songs.dta back in the con. That will remove the song from the game as well.

so, i just need to delete the songs from the .dta? not deleting the song files and re-package the whole thing?

It’s never been necessary. Only if you want to reduce storage space but other than that what removes it from the game is the songs.dta edit.

ohh, so what i am doing is just preventing the songs from appearing in the game? ok, thanks mate much obliged

edit: unless i am doing something wrong, it appears as corrupted on the xbox, so it has to be done the conventional way :-/

        #404098

i didn’t work, can i extract each song and put them as individual songs? if so, how?

          you’re doing it wrong.

let’s start with “it shows as corrupted on the xbox.”

editing the songs.dta will NEVER affect whether a pack shows as corrupt or not. that means that either 1) something got messed up during resigning (did lefluffie say it finished ok?) 2) something got messed up in the transfer to your xbox or 3) you’re putting it in the wrong folder on your usb/xbox hard drive.

I’m going to assume it’s #3, in which case, you need to make sure you’re putting the edited file where all other customs go. not where you got it from. As official DLC, it comes from the 000000002 folder on your usb. you can’t put it back on there. has to go on 000000001 like all other customs.

i know, i’ve tried every combination, tried converting the pack to con, extracting it, editing the .dta, repacking just the .dta and putting it in the usb then the xbox, always showing as corrupted, just once tried leaving it as .live, i put all my customs and con’s on the rb3 carpet on the xbox, but im trying to extract each song and put their .dta individually and just packing them as individuals with the program, (which is awesome btw) anyways, i’ll let you know how it went, cause just editing the .dta just doesn’t do it for the xbox nor the program.

you are drowning in a cup of water.

            1. copy/paste the file from your xbox to your desktop

at this point, this is a LIVE file.

            2. drag and drop this file onto the main screen of lefluffie (make sure you have latest version)

            3. click on Contents…click on songs. drag and drop the songs.dta file to your desktop.

            4. Open the songs.dta file in a text editor (i use notepad++). delete the entry for the song(s) you want to remove from the pack. entries start with ( and end with ). if you use notepad++, click on the opening ( and it’ll highlight the correct ) that you need to delete at the bottom of that entry. if you do this wrong, it won’t show up as corrupt on the xbox but the songs won’t load in the game. save

            5. Back on lefluffie, make sure songs.dta is still selected, right-click, replace file or just drag and drop the songs.dta from your desktop over the one in lefluffie. click yes to replace.

            6. Click on Information at the top of the form to go back, make sure you select “CON (retail)”, click “Resign and Rebuild”

            7. Once LeFluffie tells you it finished ok, copy this file on the same folder your customs are.

If you have customs working (i.e. you’re putting the customs in the correct folder and they show up in game), there is no way the above procedure will not work.

that’s what i am doing, :/ anyways, i already extracted the songs that i want and put them individually each with their .dta, im gonna give it a go one more time, following your instructions, even tho i remember doing the exact same steps.

              Hello,

I have tried to repackage my offical queen 01 pack to remove the 6 songs I have in RB3 version from the Queen enchanced pack (and if its is ok, i will do the same for the 2 Queens songs in Lego RB pack and renames the RB3 version to delete the mention “RB3 version”). I use Modio 3.0 to copy files between my USB key and my computer and LeFluffieForRB3 v2.1.1 to edit my pack.

I make every step in the TrojanNemo’s post and when i replug my usb key to the X-box 360, the file is indicated as corrupted. Is anyone know what is wrong ?

For customs and harmonies, it’s always OK but it is the first time I try to edit existing files.

              Thank you for your help.

You’re not following my steps correctly

If you’re putting the file back in the same folder that you took it from on your usb drive, you’re putting it in the wrong folder.

                  Thank you.

With the good folder, it’s works better.

Now I’ve got an other problem :

I delete the official pack from my hard drive (in the RB1 folder) and copy my new package in the hard drive. The file is now in the RB3 folder (but the name appaers with the RB1 name and icon, so I have the real RB1 folder with RB1 icon and a fake RB1 folder and icon wich is is in reallity the RB3 folder (I think it’s because the last file is originaly a RB1 file.

So, I start RB3 game and it’s like I do nothing : the songs I delete from the DTA are still in the list of songs.

Do I have to rebuild my song cache ?

Yes. Otherwise the game will still use the saved .dta information, since the actual content still exists in the file.

Thank you. I rebuild my cache and it work fine.

Now that I fix my Queen songs and my Rush songs (delete the 3 part of 2112 and rename the Limelight to delete the “original version” mention)

I want now to delete all songs that I don’t like from pack. So I have start successfully with rock band 2 free pack (the 20 free songs) but with bigger files Modio refuse to tranfer them to my computer : System.OutOfMemoryException.

My computer has only 2 Go of RAM so, I tried with my work’s computer which has 8 Go but I had the same problem.

                      The files I can’t transfert are :

                      – Lego Rock Band pack

                      – Rock band 2 pack

                      – Rock Band Blitz pack

Do you have a solution ? Maybe a other program like Modio ?

An other question : Is it possible to “delete” songs from RB3 disc ?
