I don’t think any of us have bothered to check this latest batch because I don’t know what could be different about it from January’s batch, which Nemo dug into a page or so back.
February 19, 2015 at 5:01 pm #438802I definitely have not, haven’t even gotten the DLC yet. When I have the time this weekend I will get it and go through it, but i’m fairly certain there won’t be a difference from January’s DLC.
February 24, 2015 at 2:49 am #439151Alright, I finally got around to throwing some more money at HMX. I had only managed to buy one track before with the release snafu, now I got all 5…
All five songs:
– have all instruments except keys/pro keys
– have lower difficulties for all instruments (based on # of notes, not making a comment on accuracy)
– have detailed tempo maps (based on # of events)
– have harmonies
– have left hand guitar/bass animations
– have drums/pro drums animations
– have the audio encrypted with the same 0x10 RB3 encryption
– have the same mogg header format used to date
– have songs.dta files formatted in the “old” style, not how Magma formats them, so HMX is still using their own system and not Magma to create the songs.dta files
– have vocal_tonic_note and song_tonality in the songs.dta = they still care somewhat about vocals
– use format 10 version 30 in the songs.dta files
– are rated Supervision Recommended
All the songs except Rize of the Fenix has a short version accounted for in the songs.dta file. I never understood what the point of that is, but they’re there. Rize of the Fenix has the entry but 0 for length.
All 5 songs have consecutive song IDs, so at least we know HMX didn’t author something in between that is pending for release…
Weezer – Back to the shack has a new line in the songs.dta I had never seen before and do not know what is for:
(song_key
Three songs have 512×512 DXT1 album art:
R U Mine, Something From Nothing, Shepherd of Fire
Two songs have 256×256 DXT1 album art:
Back to the Shack, Rize of the Fenix
This is a departure from standard before, which was to use 256×256 DXT1. From prior official DLC, maybe 1% overall deviated from that standard. Yet now 3/5 are different.
There were no extraneous or unusual files to be found inside the song files.
There you go. Nothing exciting. I want my half hour back. >” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Rize of the Fenix has the entry but 0 for lengthLEGO RB let you play short, around one minute versions of the songs on the disc, though they might have also let you do this with DLC. I don’t think anyone knows because no one used it…or played LEGO RB.
Moreover, I’m not sure what the point would be of including its value on the latest DLC, considering no post-RB3 song works on LEGO, much less these five which are all marked as Supervision Recommended.
February 24, 2015 at 1:18 pm #439177I loved Lego RB.
February 24, 2015 at 2:27 pm #439192I loved Lego RB.Same here. So many good vocal tracks.
February 24, 2015 at 2:33 pm #439193I only played part of it, and it wasn’t bad.
Still doesn’t explain why 2015 RB3 DLC is accounting for a feature that was only (?) present in Lego.

Everything Is Awesome better be on it or else I have to hope.
February 24, 2015 at 4:45 pm #439208Song key? I’ve seen that before in places. Though I thought tonality and all that replaced it.
February 24, 2015 at 4:48 pm #439210It’s the first time I see it that I can remember. And even if you were right, that song has both.
February 24, 2015 at 5:15 pm #439217Oh actually, if what I have on this is correct, it should mean showing the song’s key in the Pro Keys trainer. All the on-disc songs have them, even the ones without Keys. So, I guess that’s just another extra effort or detail they’re going with.
February 24, 2015 at 5:27 pm #439218So they added the pro keys trainer but no keys/pro keys?
February 24, 2015 at 6:10 pm #439229All five songs:– have all instruments except keys/pro keys
-snip-
I didn’t see any pro guitar or bass. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
