8 years ago today, Rock Band was released, fleshing the rhythm game out into a four-player experience and revolutionizing the genre for years of games to come. the game and its successors came to define Harmonix as a studio, and paved the way for a number of amazing things – including this community right here. i’m no old-timer when it comes to rhythm games, nor am i very eloquent, but i thought it would be appropriate to have a thread celebrating the birthday of our favourite video game. here’s to 8 years, and hey – maybe even 8 more.

My brain told me that it’s impossible that RB is *that* old.

 

Unfortunately, the math backs it up.

 

Damn, but that makes me feel old (like just about everything else these days!).
