I would say there is a big difference between challenging charts and fun songs. Look at ‘Blinded by Fear’ by At the Gates, for a good example.
Most Green Day songs don’t really do it for me either. Very simple structures, more reliant on tempo than good riffs and melodies. But to each their own.

Have no fear because anybody can just chart any song from any band to their heart desires for RB3. If a single artist game comes out in the next few years, feel free to resurrect this thread and flame me to the ground.
Agreed. They can barely release 1 song a week at this rate…

I used to laugh back when guitar hero only released 3 songs a week for dlc compared to rock band’s 5-10 songs a week. Now were at 1 song a week with sometimes the song being a rewind track. Sad sad days.
May 23, 2017 at 7:49 pm #485415No one even wanted or asked for the first one. It was a colossal failure. It was probably released as sponsored content and Harmonix were paid to shill it. Doubt that will happen again. You cant force people to like that garbage band.

Actually interesting story. I used to despise Green Day (a bunch of angry Canadians came to the US to complain about it? Come on.) However I also wanted to have as large a library as I could so when I heard the export license was about to expire I said what the hell and bought a used copy and was lucky enough the code wasn’t yet used. I ended up playing the whole game’s worth of songs to get RB3 goals done and I actually ended up liking a lot of what I heard. Dookie has a lot of fun songs and no matter how you feel about the band American Idiot was one of if not the most influential album of the early 2000s. I now have quite a number of Green Day songs on my MP3 player and enjoy them.
I still have issues with the band itself but I suppose yeah, you can force people to like Green Day. They’re excellent for a game like Rock Band. Definitely don’t need a second game for them but I’m overall pleased the first one was made.

You don’t have to be a d*** about it jeez… Edit: Sorry

whats even more sad is that rock band 4 dlc isn’t backwards compatible with rock band 1,2, or 3. Bad move because not everyone has and xbox one and not everyones gonna buy the one AND the converter thingy to play 360 instruments on it.
May 24, 2017 at 9:43 pm #485459Not a bad move because Rock Band 3 was released nearly seven years ago and the other two a lot longer. It would be extremely difficult and time-consuming (and not to mention expensive) to make them backwards compatible. That’s like saying Activision made a “bad move” for not making all the CoD zombie mode maps backwards compatible all the way to World at War simply because some people don’t have Infinite Warfare yet.

I don’t think you understand that RB4 dlc works in a whole different way than the past series dlc. Everything is in a different format. Plus, it’s going to be hard to convert xbox one stuff over to the xbox 360 with probably a huge cost of money to do that as well.
