For those fiddling around with this in the ‘pre-playtest’ state, I found the time to complete a first pass on Expert Guitar:

As anticipated, given the overlapping mess of guitar takes in the refrain and outro, the ending solo gets quite hard to hear in parts! It looks like I may get extra-ambitious and get out my (real) guitar and double the second solo so that it’s obvious that’s the part that’s charted!
Fun little solo, though.

June 28, 2013 at 4:31 pm #402378MFX: on the intro (X), why the double RED (open D) each time? I think that is one longer sustain note, not two notes.
I’ve got Pro X charted up to the FINAL SOLO, have not play tested anything yet. BASS is done.

by the way, this is ready for the playtesting thread.

June 28, 2013 at 9:31 pm #402397OMG, PM me next time. I just saw this post. I am starting PRO GUITAR NOW NOW NOWAh, didn’t know you were that eager! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
by the way, this is ready for the playtesting thread.Well, almost: I hadn’t touched Bass for a while, so I wanted to give it one last check before sending out the X charts to people. I also did some tweaks to the Guitar chart, so you’ll have to compare that to Pro, too.
MFX: on the intro (X), why the double RED (open D) each time? I think that is one longer sustain note, not two notes. No, distinctly two notes in the beginning. Well, actually sometimes it’s almost coming across as *three* notes before the drums kick in: one of the guitar tracks may throw in an extra pick or perhaps an early pull-off, but I decided to keep it to two notes for consistency.
Now, when the Bass takes over that same riff in the middle section before the first solo, *that* is one longer sustain note as you expected
please have someone like Nyx review your tempo map… seems weird.I’m pretty darn confident about this tempo map, though. The weirdness that you might have been noticing could be in the choruses where the high notes of the descending single note guitar line was charted a 1/16 late each time, which was wrong Wrong WRONG of me! Should’ve checked it against the ReaSynth clicking, but it was only a first draft…
Not that we won’t want to get more ears on this, as Nyx is quite welcome to take a crack at it, but wait for the next version to see if you still think it’s wonky. For me, if I can play drums to it by audio only while looking away and still maintain combo, that’s gotta be pretty accurate.
June 28, 2013 at 9:32 pm #402398please have someone like Nyx review your tempo map… seems weird.I guess maybe I’d drop another marker at M55.1, where it’s maybe 30 ms early. Other than that, it looked fine.

EDIT: Oooh, and M47+ as well. Yeah, apologies, I guess I was a bit overconfident! I’ll look for others.

June 28, 2013 at 10:07 pm #402405If we could play customs online I would totally buy XBL and do a C3 Rock Band Friday.
