ok i really want to chart songs again i say this every few months cus i get in the mood but can never get tempo mapping down yet think i’m learning i wanna do a carrie underwood pack and the song Finale by Natewantstobattle if i can get this tempo mapping down i’ll be making a few country songs since thats my wifes favorite genre
Good luck! Honestly the most important piece of knowledge when it comes to tempo mapping comes outside of any of the tutorials on this forum, because you have to understand how time and rhythm works in music first.
Hey, congrats on getting the itch to come back! I recently have too as well ha.
If you want, I can PM you a little walkthrough that I’ve sent to people before to help with tempo mapping. It uses a slightly different technique that it taught here, but it’s a lot more flexible and easier IMO. It makes the songs with hard to hear downbeats and tempo/signature changes a lot more manageable. I’ve charted enough rush to know that ha.
I remember charting out the correct time signatures for Rush’s Earthshine. During the chorus it changed every measure. 4/4, 5/4, 4/4, 3/4
i’ll be making a few country songs since thats my wifes favorite genre
I hear ya there. If mine didn’t still play with me every Friday night I probably would have quit years ago. Good luck.
