Yeah, it’ll prolly go guitar on next release, followed by keys.

There’s some vocal/drum/bass tweaks I need to make as well.

    Nice update!

If I was thinking of doing a Journey custom, should I check with you first or are you done?

I know a few people here go far & deep with certain artists they like. Today’s Eagles release for instance.

I don’t have anything started for Journey at the moment.

Thanks for checking, and I’d love to see more of this great band!

    Hey Gep!

Great job on a great song! Your tempo map feels spot on and this is a LOT of fun to play.

I do have a question about the drum fills, though. I’m not sure if it’s every fill, but there are a couple where the charting stops during the fill itself. I’m guessing you didn’t chart those notes because with fills turned on you can’t tell? (I always play with the fills turned off, so I can see those notes).

I also wanted to ask about your authoring process. I know you are a fellow PS3 user and I have had a devil of a time going from Reaper to Magma to CON to PS3 for every little tweak. Half the time something goes wrong along the way and I get the “skipping song” message by the time I get to the PS3. It is a slow and finicky process. I don’t suppose you’ve found a less painful method?

Whatever you are doing, please keep up the good work!

Not sure if it’s needed but I charted the drums awhile ago but pulled it when this was released. I haven’t played this release yet.

    Thanks for the kind words.

On the drum fills, Magma kept reporting that I didn’t have them when I compiled. When I deleted the notes, that error went away. I’m probably doing something stupid with how I’m charting that part of the drums.

I’ve not had issues with going from Reaper to CON to PS3 since Magma added the song ID options.

I make sure I have a numeric song ID assigned by Magma.

The other thing is I make sure to NEVER use capital letters in my directory.

Both of those will get you a ‘skipping song’.

When I update a song, I just pull the DTA file over from the PS3, delete the song I’m working on from it using CONTools. I then delete the song from the PS3. Then I re-merge the update and transfer the songs.dta and the updated song folder to the PS3.

I did this song last night, and I still feel like the pitch on vocals is off a bit. I moved them a 1/2 step on this release to match the sheet music, but it may need a little tweaking.

Man, I did not see your posted release. Sorry about that.

I’ve been trying to search the forums for existing versions of any songs I’m thinking of charting.

I’m trying to make sure I’m not duplicating effort if someone has something charted already.

I just tried singing and it’s definitely off in some parts. I don’t know anything about charting to tell you exactly what is wrong though.

This one started with a MIDI, with a vocal track.

My first try was w/o any pitch shift, and it seemed off.

This 2nd release was 1/2 pitch higher, but down an octave to fit in the highest note.

Frankly, I prefer my first method and may revert.
