Hello! I’m finally getting back into the charting game after a hiatus, and although my updating will be very sparse, I plan on it being consistent. I charted some customs before RBN became a thing, then worked with That Authoring Group for a number of years. I have no qualms with calling myself a seasoned author, and if I were putting out a heavier output of songs, I would consider applying to join the ranks of official charters here. For now, I’ll stick to the show floor.

January 3, 2015 at 7:58 pm #435620Interesting sounding song, will take a look at the chart later today or tomorrow and let you know
Also, any chance of seeing you submit that old Tommy The Cat custom sometime? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
January 3, 2015 at 10:09 pm #435624Oh god. I was never proud of that drum chart, and I don’t have the files anymore anyway. So I doubt it. Thanks for your time on this one.
January 7, 2015 at 12:15 am #435756I took over from NL for this due to my involvement with the song beforehand (with NL’s permission of course).
The notes:
Drums:
Expert looks fine
Hard:
M36: R->Y->B tom hits should be used sparingly on Hard, and only if it’s not too fast. I personally think tis would be too fast for Hard as a crossover, I suggest making the blue tom a yellow. Same with M38.
M56.3: I’d take out the second snare hit. Since Hard difficulty has a slower scroll speed these two snares look really close together when playing.
Same with M57.2, I’d take the note at 57.2.17 out, and M59.5.
M62.4: I’d remove the middle yellow tom
M62.4.87: I’d remove this snare too
M66 onward: Since the BPM increases so much, take out any 16th note drags (as I detailed below).
M66.3: Remove the second snare.
M66.5: I’d remove the snare here.
M68.3: I’d remove the snare here.
M68.4: Remove the second snare, same with M68.5
M69.13: I’d remove the snare.
M73.6: Remove the second snare.
M74.5: Remove the snare
M75.13: Remove the second snare.
M76.5: Remove the second snare.
Medium:
Any cymbal on Medium that had a kick attached to it on Hard can probably be put on Medium as well. Like the blue cymbal in M3, the hi-hat in M5, all the yellows in M9 and 10, etc. As long as there are no 2 kicks an 8th note apart.
Apart from that I don’t see any problems.
Easy:
Seems a little over reduced. Easy is like Medium-light for drums. You can have things a quarter note apart, you don’t have to reduce to half notes. As long there are no pad+kick hits. I recommend adding some notes back in, at least on a quarter grid.
Bass:
Looks mostly fine. There are some quarter notes on easy though that might be troublesome (general rule is half notes), but it IS a prog song so it should be fine.
Guitar:
Looks fine as well. Only suggestion I could make is in the pattern at M22 on Hard, make the note at M22.2.50 and M22.3.50 a HO/PO since they’re HO/POs on Expert. The same pattern happens after the free time part.
Keys:
Can’t see any problems here pitch-wise. But have you considered putting that noise at the end on the keys track? As an E-G#-B chord perhaps. I also think I hear an Eb at the end of that noise (as it gets louder) placed above the B.
Regarding the position of range of the keyboard, I remember the docs saying that the C2-E3 range is easier to read than the D2-F3 range. Since all the notes can fit in the C2-E3 range, perhaps change the range to that.
I also recommend moving the [idle] event to M3 when the music starts.
The [play] event at M36.7 should be moved back (unless this was intentional?)
January 7, 2015 at 2:25 am #435758I originally had the last bit on keys. I took it out because I figured that as it stands now, all of the keys are consolidated into one section pretty nicely. The keyboard player can wait for their part, come in, and then relax the rest of the song. That’s really the only reason.
Thanks for this, I’ll take a look at the rest later tonight.

I think I got everything you mentioned. I also changed up m51-53 on guitar.
January 20, 2015 at 9:08 am #436656Got a new song up. Also replaced Holocene with Sweet Disposition in my reservations. Holocene’s multitrack was incomplete in a way that I couldn’t be sure what was missing and what wasn’t, so I ditched it.
January 20, 2015 at 9:12 am #436657I’ll download this one too and take a look today or tomorrow.
January 23, 2015 at 4:59 pm #436876I had a few personal issues with Spoonful’s guitar chart. New RPP is up.
No rush on Entertainment, by the way. Like I said, I don’t plan on a release for it for a while.

Who knows? Should I ever officially join C3, I might make it a “from the vault” release (along with A Certain Romance).
Anyway, Breezeblocks and Sweet Disposition both just need vocals at this point, so hopefully I’ll have them done by the time spring break is up. Sweet Disposition has protar too!
June 2, 2015 at 6:12 am #446861Breezeblocks is up.
Side note: I’ve PMed the admins about possibly joining C3 for the short period of time it’ll be fully functional before RB4’s launch. I’m not sure if it went through because I send it to “administrators” rather than the individual admins, so here’s my note saying to check the whatevers.
