Hey look at me, being here in an official capacity now.
If you don’t know, I’ve released about 80 songs in my thread over the past ten and a half months. Some are better made than others, and over the last few months, I feel my skills have become pretty refined. I do have one glaring weakness however, my inability to properly chart vocals. I just don’t have the ear for it. My real strength lies in drums, guitar, and bass charting. Fortunately through the help of either well made midis, or the help of others, some of my stuff has become truly full band.
I have some tracks that may be ready to bring up to the big league soon.
First of all, Lowlander2 has shown interest in bringing some of my AC/DC tracks to C3 for the upcoming Australia day pack. All songs were originally done by myself, then Colonel was nice enough to spend his time pitching the vocals and harmonies.
The planned tracks so far;
TNT
Touch Too Much
With additional option for Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.
All have been released in my thread already, but it was before they were picked up for C3.
Also farottone has shown interest in helping to bring an AC/DC track in time for the holidays with Mistress for Christmas.
Also, I thought I’d mention the other tracks that are in my library. All of these tracks have full EMHX instruments, fills, OD, practice sections, and vocals.
The biggest thing keeping them from C3 quality is the vocals. They all could use a polishing, but the pitched notes are there. The tracks may also need some harmony charting, as well as proper dryvox and camera/lighting cues. But these tracks are all basically 80~90% C3 ready.
* denotes pro keys would likely need to be added
Eminem – Legacy *
Eminem – Lose Yourself*
Eminem – The Monster
Michael Jackson – Billie Jean*
The White Stripes – Hotel Yorba
The White Stripes – The Same Boy You’ve Always Known*
Oasis – Don’t Go Away
Oasis – Roll With It
Oasis – Stand By Me
Don Henley – Dirty Laundry*
Bill Haley – Rock Around the Clock
Bob Seger – Night Moves*
Lady Gaga – The Fame*
Taylor Swift – Red
And finally I have my AC/DC, or at least my good AC/DC. This is stuff that I’ve gone back and polished up. I strongly believe the Guitar, Bass, and Drum charts are C3 ready, if not 99% there. The unpitched vocals are the main reason I’ve been unable to make these C3 ready. These are all Bon Scott tracks. I don’t believe the Brian Johnson led tracks should ever take priority, considering his singing style. If someone really wants to do a Brian track, I won’t stop them, but I highly suggest going with Bon. These are the tracks that are basically ready to go once vocals are pitched:
Rock n Roll Singer
Live Wire
Rock n Roll Damnation
Down Payment Blues
Gone Shootin’
Sin City
Whats Next to the Moon
Gimme a Bullet
Highway to Hell
Girls Got Rhythm
Walk All Over You
Beating Around the Bush
Shot Down in Flames
If You Want Blood (You’ve Got it)
Night Prowler
Get it Hot
Love Hungry Man
Anywho that’s what I’ve got on tap for now. I really hope to bring some more of my tracks to C3 in the future, but I’ll need help doing it. Thanks.

First of all, I have no doubt you can work on your vocals to make them what we need them to be. If Nyx finds it in his heart to coach you a bit, you can get at a great level of authoring in no time, ask Colonel for reference. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
Some more information:
1) I have already worked Billie Jean into a full band version but since it will be part of a Thriller release, and considering that a Bad pack will be out in January, it’s gonna be a while before it’s out.
2) Except for themed packs, we tend not to repeat acts in our releases in short intervals. For that reason, if you want to release AC/DC songs by themselves (so, not including songs in XMas, Australia Day, etc. packs) make sure you compound them in a single pack and give some months before a new release.
3) There’s plenty of good songs that some authors would pick up to help you from that list but remember that the end goal is to try to make you a full fledged full band author, so we will ask you to put in a bit of extra effort to perfect your vocals and recognise a good MIDI for pro keys (from what I’ve seen, guitar, bass and drums are already at a very good level).

November 19, 2014 at 6:18 pm #433160I have no doubt you can work on your vocals to make them what we need them to be.I can definitely try to get better, but in the last year, every time I try to pitch vox from scratch I get nowhere. I have taken vocal tracks from midis and made them better, maybe from like a D+ to a B-. I’ve read the docs, watched the videos, studied existing cons, and it still seems to be my kryptonite… to the point where I’ve opened up DLC files, listened to the vox notes, and think even those don’t sound right sometimes.

The tricky thing is when you’re doing a song no one has ever made into a midi file.
I’ll definitely do my best here to contribute as much as I can on a track by myself, but I don’t see myself authoring vocals from scratch at C3 quality – well… ever. Now I can find ways to work around this by finding really well made midis, or even doing a song without pitched vocals, like rap.
I’d certainly be willing to help other people out with the stuff I’m good at. I’ve helped Colonel get one of his tracks FB before, and done the GBD for 2 tracks that made it to C3.
I will gladly help you improve your pitched vocal charting and you can teach me the difference between a crash and a floor tom.I feel ya man. I would probably have the same problem, but I started playing real drums about 4 years ago, and charting them comes with ease. One thing I could think would help – just sit at a drumset – rock band or real – and just get a feel for what does what. When I first got the cymbal expansion 3-pack for my drums, I didn’t know the difference between a hi hat, crash, or ride. With time, you just figure it out.
December 1, 2014 at 3:24 pm #433774I’ll gladly pitch in on “The Fame” sometime if you want to chunk through that backlog. Looking forward to a bunch of these, especially “Dirty Laundry”.
