MrPrezident: https://db.c3universe.com/songs/all/__user/MrPrezidentApril 7, 2014 at 5:45 pm #417204A bit of an update to one of my earlier songs.
Thanks in large part to some very much appreciated volunteering by TrojanNemo, I wanted to re-release a cleaner version of this song, since it’s one of the most popular of all time, and it was only my third track and needed many things cleaned up. This should overwrite the previous version.
Billie Jean – Fixes
Lyrics are now properly split
Some general vocal timing clean up
Vocal phrases re-done
Vocals overdrive re-done
Non-pitched lyrics fixed
Lyric capitalization cleaned up
General tempo map tweaks
Practice sections now properly labeled
GBDK Overdrive completely redone/Unison phrases added
Venue track added
Minor drum tweaks
Easy drums simplified correctly
Drum fills tweaked
Drum animations tweaked
Non existent Bass hopos removed
Added Bass notes that were missing
Guitar tweaked to fix sustains and removed unneeded hopos
Keys animations added
Keys sustains fixed
Added keys section that was missing of E/M
Count in updated
There are still pro keys that could be done, as well as harmonies, but I just wanted the current track to be fixed up before jumping on new parts.

April 7, 2014 at 6:27 pm #417208Excellent.
Having just started with customs, this is a great thing to see. It shows me that people are really dedicated to keeping Rock Band up and running! I’m looking forward to grabbing Billie Jean and several of your other tracks. Thanks for your hard work!
April 8, 2014 at 3:25 am #417232Hey nice to see you discovered the place. There is a ton of content out there, and more coming through here each week. I try to get out as much stuff as I can. Glad to hear you liked some of my tracks. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions about my customs, feel free to let me know.
April 8, 2014 at 1:01 pm #417251I do have one quick question:
On Billie Jean, my vocalist’s lips do not move. Is that normal?
Thanks!
April 8, 2014 at 3:09 pm #417262I never recorded dryvox for the song. That’s how you get the lipsync in game to work.
It’s an issue of time and necessity, since the 15 minutes it takes me to do it for every track could be spent working on more crucial things.
I think someday I might go through and knock out a big chunk of my songs with dryvox. For now, just pretend the singer is a really good “ventriloquist”.
April 8, 2014 at 3:27 pm #417264Or just clean up the individual harmony charts or part vocals if no harmony to only have the notes left, enable rea synth and render out the charts as midi playback. Instant half decent lipsync that is much better than no lipsync.
April 8, 2014 at 4:12 pm #417272Nemo, is that something that I, as someone with no experience with charting or reaper and with no musical background, could conceivably help out with? I feel a bit like a freeloader, coming here and grabbing songs that other people have worked really hard on. I’d like to contribute even in a tiny way if I can.
April 8, 2014 at 4:40 pm #417275Or just clean up the individual harmony charts or part vocals if no harmony to only have the notes left, enable rea synth and render out the charts as midi playback. Instant half decent lipsync that is much better than no lipsync. That’s too much work for something “half decent”. Unless Farottone comes out with a script for that, I’ll just do them the old fashioned way.
In fact, with all this talk about it, I’ll probably try and get to some today.
April 8, 2014 at 4:50 pm #417276If you say so, all of my songs that didn’t have a separated vocals stem have always had lipsync done that way. It’s not perfect, but it takes me less than 5 minutes to do it and you get some lipsync animation going on. I don’t know about you, but when I tried putting the song on the xbox, starting it up, and recording lipsync via microphone, it took a lot longer than 15 minutes and it never came out that good, because I suck at singing.
April 8, 2014 at 4:58 pm #417278Heh, well, I didn’t intend to start an argument.
I just wanted to express my appreciation, and ask an honest question.
I understand that all these songs are made by people on their own time, and if there’s anything I can do to help, just let me know. I don’t have any experience charting and my ear is untrained, but I’m willing to learn.

April 9, 2014 at 6:06 pm #417367Scratch that. I goofed. That isn’t the right file. I’ll post the right one later.
I’ll have something else Oasis soon too.
