freeze on load up

Hello folks
i for the past month had problem completing load up on start up, i figured it was dodgy custom file or something
anyway I’m now up and running but I’m still not 100% sure what was wrong with it.
This is been since end of august all of sudden i couldn’t add songs like jackie chan or live aid queen etc. i tried all sorts rebuilding the cache many times. I moved songs from stick to hdd so theres not too many on each drive (if even that makes a difference). i removed xmas songs temporarily. i deleted multiples of songs kept the most up to date version. i did for instance have one song on the hdd and then the same on on the stick one is clearly more up to date than the other but i can’t tell because one has a date on it the other does not. I know the song limit is 3000 overall but I’m nowhere close, I’m just shy of 2000. Now is there other song limits I’m not aware of ? i know I’ve experienced putting songs on stick where the file name is too long so I’ve had to shorten it to make PB or velocity happy with me.
Or is there a list of songs that have had problems loading up ?
Im sorry for being ignorant here but i just want to narrow down what might have caused it or something i overlooked.
the only thing in your list tthere i could think of..mulitples of songs. i just keep one version the most up to date one(its usually the best version.)
multis usually spawn a dta conflict affecting your load.

point noted and thank you. yes usually not a problem cos the updated one is usually the same file name and just overwrites the previous track but not always.
i just want to make sure I’m not ignoring something else or limits I’m not aware of
